Chapter 44: "I'll kill you myself"

By Thursday, I began doing duties my dad did before his unfortunate death. We're planning hectically for tomorrow.

I'm hoping none of my team dies but I know that's not possible. I just hope in the end, we'll all be alright.

God please, I don't want to die. I beg you.

I pray silently then my phone rings from my work table. I look at who's calling and see Rick's contact and I'm confused.

Why the hell is he calling me? Does he not know I'm at war with his father or even him. Well, I guess he still acknowledges the fact I'm still his girlfriend.

That's a little cute though.

I pick it up and wait for him to talk. "Jasmine?" I hear him say through the phone. "What is the problem?" I respond.

"Can't I call my girlfriend anymore? It's my father who has a problem with you, remember? Sorry for that day though" he tells me.

"Oh it's cool but you didn't call all this while, I actually missed you a little" I flirt with my boyfriend.

Then he cackles loudly, "Wow Jas. You're pathetic and innocently stupid. How could you think I called you just cause I'm supposedly in love with you".

I gasp. I'm shocked at how he's talking to me, I'm not supposed to be surprised but I never expected such from Rick, wow.

"Ah yes. Just so you know, I'm the one who murdered your father and I instructed them to video others so I could give you a little gift, after our unexpected visit" he laughs more.

Rage builds greatly in me. What the hell?

I become very angry, "How dare you Rick? How dare you? You come into my home, kill the family I recently fell in love with and you dare call me to rub it in? Are you mad?"

"No darling. I just had to hurt those who hurt my father, you should understand that baby. I hope you show up on Friday and just know tomorrow's not a joke. I'll kill you myself" he says and hung up.

What the freak? How dare Rick? I knew his desire for his father's love would make him do dangerous things but for him to think he'll kill me is the height.

I'll kill him too.

"Who called you earlier?" Diana, my new assistant and second in command, asked me as she walked into my office.

"That bastard Rick actually called me" I answer in fury. "Rick has the guts to call you after what his fathers people did to you? To us all?" she replies.

"The painful part was he mocked me and told me he's the one who murdered my dad" I say. "What? He killed Mr Stefan?" she yelled.

"Yes and he left the note with the flash drive as a gift to us. Can you imagine the effrontery?" I tell her.

"Since when did the loving Rick become so psychotic?" she asks. "I don't get it myself. It's his desperate way of getting his dads attention and live. I always knew it'll get him in trouble"

"And he just entered a bad trap. A really dangerous one with me" I say as I think of what to do with Rick.
