Chapter 7: "We're always watching, remember?"

"Jas, we need to talk" my new mum called me.

Dr Angel has been the absolute best, she's made me feel so comfortable, welcome and special.

"Sure. What's up?" I sat next to her. "You're about to enter grade 12, do you still want homeschool or go back?" she asks.

Ew! Of course I don't want to be home schooled. It's been three whole years since I've been to an actual school and you think I'll miss that opportunity, never!

But, I don't want to go back to my previous school. I won't be able to face Sierra or Kat or worse, Ian.

I was the total worst and they've been trying to reach me since but they eventually stopped especially Sierra and Ian.

I don't blame Katy for not trying to reach me. I was such a bad and terrible person.

I can never go back there. So many rumors about all that has happened these past years.

I can't handle all that drama. I rather change school. A new everything. My past, forgotten. I just hope to not meet anyone from my past.

"Baby.. what do you think? You've not answered?" my mum asked.

"Sorry. Sure, I want to go to school". I replied her in a bubbly tone.

"Your previous school right?" she smiled. "Um.. how bout a new and fresh start so, a new school. A private school to be precise and I want to go to a boarding school" I answered.

"Really? A boarding school? Wow. I didn't think you'll ever want that but, that's fine. Do you have any school in mind?" she asks.

"Nope. Do you not remember I've not seen the outside world for years. You guys even restricted me from using phone, remember?" I chuckled.

"Oh true. I'll look for a school and start registration quickly. They usually don't admit in grade 12 but your doctor's report will let them. I'll give you feedback" she says.

"Sure mum. I was cooking lunch before. Would you like some too?" I smile.

"You know I've always loved your cooking" she laughs. "That's a yes for me then" I hop to the kitchen smiling.

Ring! Ring! My phone starts ringing. My phone was released after I got discharged. It was an unknown number.

"Um hey" I spoke into my phone. "Jasmine Cornfield, we're always watching, remember? Be prepared for what's coming" a robotic voice answered.

"What the fudge? Who is this? How do you know me? Why do you keep calling?" I replied.

This is the 15th time this same message is being said to me and this is the 15th number I'll be blocking.

"Just be prepared" and with that, the call ended.

I went straight to text the number but no reply, but the messages were only being read and not replied.

This call just ruined my mood fr.

"I've got the best school honey. Rainbow Prestigious High School. It's a private school and a boarding school as requested, I double checked" my mum told me.

"Yay! Finally real school for once in 3 years. I can't wait" I said excitedly.

"You really must miss school. Some people of your age could strangle me for such news" she joked.

"I know right but you know, I'm different mother!" I sit on her playfully.

"I know you are. Now get off me before I throw you off, you big girl" my mum complained.

I kept bouncing on her till she eventually threw me off. "Mum! You're super lazy geez" I roll my eyes.

"Oh really, sass queen. Roll your eyes one more time and see what's gonna happen" she smiles.

"Oh sorry mother. I'll stop playing with you forever!" I fold my arms and run to my room.
