"Jasmine please. I wanted to tell you before this incident but it happened unexpectedly. It's not cause of pity, I'm not like that. Get help and we'll be together please sugar" he says.

"My name's Jasmine. I don't need help excuse you. We can never ever be together. Leave my room before I call the officers" I warn him.

"Okay fine. I'll leave but it's cause you're shouting out of pain. I'm always one call away. See you sugar" he touched my cheek and left.

Bang! My steel door is broken down and a bunch of masked men come closer and cover my head in a bag.

I'm being moved into something that feels like a van cause it feels spacious and it's moving now.

The car/van stops and the bag is removed from my head and I'm met with bright lights from a hospital.

Shit, I'm at God's Help Rehabilitation Centre.

A man grabbed my hands and push me in while, I'm screaming for help but no avail cause people think I'm meant for this place.

A doctor opens a spacious room and the men drop me on a neatly laid bed and they leave.

After a few minutes, a microphone from the room starts speaking.

"Welcome Miss Cornfield to this home of peace. I'll be your little assistant, Jessica. A doctor will be assigned to your ward soon, Dr Angel, you'll be meeting her soon. Enjoy your stay here"

"This is a peaceful arena. If you need anything or any help, tap the little button on the wooden table and I'll always be available" the microphone stopped talking.

Flashy images run across my mind. This time I could see the pain in my mums eye as she was being shot at for no reason. It was the worst sight to see. After several shot while she sat there helpless, her head is being raised up with a rope as well as her chair. Her lifeless body unable to fight for herself. Then, lest I forget the hideous poster hanged on her with the writing 'SURPRISE'. The sick maniac that did this will pay but what I keep staring at is my mum's body and eye then her eyes lit up staring at me creepily.

"Haaaaa!" I scream and jolt awake in so much dear. My room door is opened and a petite curvy young lady walks with calmness in her eyes.

"Hello jasmine. What happened? Please try to stay calm, okay? It's not real. Your emotions are playing with you. Stop thinking about it" she begs me.

"I can't. I can't. I can't. It's unbelievable doc. My parents gone, my brother too and me knowing my other brother is on the bad team" I blurt out staring at his black bracelet in anger.

"What do you mean? Your other brother?" she queried. "Can we talk about this later?" I tell her.

"Okay whatever you say. I'm Dr Angel by the way. Jessica must have briefed you. A lot of things would happen during your stay here"

"A lot of therapy sessions, yoga lessons, brain exercises and you'll he good to go"

"Your journey into good health just began. Take these meds, they'll make you feel a lot better and go back to bed. I'll always be here" she tells me.

"Okay, thank you Dr Angel. Goodnight" I tell her and managed to smile before she left.

"Happy Birthday Jasmine! Happy Birthday Jasmine! Happy Birthday! Happy Birthday, happy Birthday my baby" Dr Angel sang to me.

"Thank you" I smile at her. "So how old are you now? How old are you now? How old are you now Jasmine. How old are you now" she smiled.

"I'm 16 today. I'm 16 today, I'm 16 and grateful. I'm 16 today" I said, beaming with smiles.

Whoa! It's been three years since I've been in this place. It's been of good help and I'll soon be discharged. I've stopped having dreams.

Dr Angel has really tried for me. I've been so bitter, mean, so unnecessary, rude and she'll never stop being there for me. I love her.

According to my teachers, after summer, I'll be moving to grade 12 yay.

Homeschooling or hospital schooling can be fun too but lonely most times.

"So there's a surprise for you. Have this" Dr Angel hands a box to me.

I open it, there's a letter in it but I kept it. Inside a smaller box there, a beautiful necklace with a music note charm and two letters which were enveloped.

One from the hospital and one from child services.

I read one of them. I'm getting discharged today, yay!

The second one shocked me. "Wait what? This must be a joke? Aw, you're my new mum" I said with tears in my eyes.
