Nico was shouting. I had dragged him to the infirmary after Capture the flag. He was having another nightmare. But this time he wasn't crying. This time he was shouting at it, saying it doesn't scare him.

He woke up. I smiled at him.

"Hey Nico," I said.

"Hey sunshine. Who won?" He asked.

"We did. We couldn't have won without your help."

"That's good," he mumbled.

"You slept through dinner."

"I'm not hungry anyways."
"Nico!"

"What? I'm not. Also, I'm bored."

"Do you want to go down to the beach?" I asked.

"Sure."

We walked down to the beach. Once we got there, Nico sat down on a log.

"You're not going to swim?" I asked.

Nico looked away embarrassed.

"What's the problem?"

"I can't swim," Nico admitted.

"I can teach you."

"Fine."

He stepped into the water, walking until he was waist deep. I followed.

"Come on, go deeper. I will be here if you go under," I told him.

He walked more, then, he waved his arms around, frantic. His head went under, and I pulled him up.

He took deep breaths. Then he hopped on my back.

"Let's not do that again," he said.

I walked out of the water with him on my back. He was surprisingly very light. I could carry him with ease.

Once on land, Nico hopped off my back. We sat on the log, staring at the sun setting.

I heard a low growl. Nico and I turned around to face two hellhounds.

"I'll take one, and you'll take the other," Nico said, barely above a whisper.

He grabbed his sword and I grabbed my bow. I shot at one hellhound repeatedly. He stabbed the other.

Finally, the hellhound I was fighting yelped in pain. I was exhausted.

I turned to see how Nico was doing. He just stabbed the hellhound in the heart. The hellhound crumbled to dust.

Nico ran over to me and stabbed the hellhound in front of me. The hell hound died. Then, he fainted. I ran him to the infirmary.

I checked him for any new wounds. He got a bite on his arm, but the rest were minor. I was bandaging him up, when Kayla walked in the room.

"What happened?" She demanded.

"Hellhounds snuck up on us. I would be dead if it wasn't for Nico," I told her.

She walked beside me and helped bandage Nico up. We worked in silence.

The horn blew meaning time to go to bed. I stayed up to be with Nico.

"You should get some rest," Kayla said.

"I have to be with Nico," I told her.

"No, you don't. You also got attacked by hellhounds. Go to bed."

I went to my cabin, not liking the idea. But when my head hit the pillow, I fell asleep.

Unfortunately, I had the dream I had every night.

Nico walked up to me and kissed me. "I love you," he said.

"Love you too," I replied.

We walked hand in hand across camp. We ate our food together, and walked out of the dinning area. A kid then walked up to us, and stabbed Nico, through the heart. I knew I couldn't save him, but I tried anyway.

Then, he died. I was softly crying.

I woke up. Six a.m. I walked to the infirmary to check on Nico. He was still unconscious. I made sure, double checked, then looked around. No one was there.

I stayed by Nico's side that day, only getting up to go to the bathroom. My siblings brought me food.

"Come on, Nico, wake up," I pleaded.
