The next few weeks were nice. No threats or dangers. Apollo out there, in danger probably. But Nico and I are not.

Nico invited me over to his cabin one day. He said he was lonely.

I walked over to his cabin, and we played uno. The power went out in the middle of the game.

Nico stared at me. "What?" I asked.

"I love you so much," he said.

"I love you too."

He started crying.

"Nico, what's wrong?" I asked.

"J-Jason," was all he told me.

"What about Jason?" I asked in a soothing voice.

"Jason, he," Nico buried his head in my chest. "Jason is dead."

I hugged him. We sat there for a long time.

After a while, Nico fell asleep. I was worried about the nightmares it would bring.

I eventually fell asleep. Later, I was woken to Nico's voice

"I had a crush on Percy. That's the truth. That's the big secret. Happy now?"

I realized he was dreaming about cupid. I hated cupid.

I stroked his head and tried to wake him us.

"Shh, Nico. Wake up. Wake up. You're with me."

He slowly opened his eyes. "Bianca?"

I must have said something that reminded him of Bianca. I didn't want to remind him Bianca was dead, so I played along.

"Shh, Nico. Wake up. Wake up. You're with me."

"I'm with you," he said softly, then closed his eyes again, hugging me tighter.

He fell back asleep again, and I didn't want him to have any nightmares. But he needed sleep.

I stayed there until he woke up again.

"Hey, sunshine," he said once he woke up.

"Hey, death boy."

"Thank you."

"For what?"

"Thank you for being there. I needed you to be there."

I hugged him tighter. "I'll always be there."

"Not true," he said. "You were dead, then I was taken away from you."

"I'll always be there from now on."

He sighed, like a bunch of weight was being lifted of his chest. "I love you."

I kissed him in response.

"Will, there was voices calling to me from the Tartarus. And I'm scared."

"Who do you think they may be?"

"Maybe Bob," Nico said.

I remembered who Bob/Iapetus was. He died holding the doors of death open for Percy and Annabeth. He was a hero.

"You need to talk about this to Mr. D."

Nico groaned. "Fine. But can we finish our game of uno?"

"Yeah, we can."

I pulled out the deck of uno that we had, and Nico snuggled up in my arms.
