He pushed me. Nico, my brave Nico, charged at the hellhounds. And all I could do was cry.

I watched Nico fight. Oh, I wanted to be down there with him. But 'm a healer, not a fighter. I would end up dying if I went down there. And if Nico somehow survived, he would be distraught.

I still wanted to be down there, though.

Nico took out his sword and screamed at the hellhounds. He charged, stabbing any hellhounds that got in his way.

After a little bit, he turned to me. "Will, run!" He screamed. I did what he said. I was afraid. I wish I stayed with him.

I ran and ran, only to find I was in Nevada. I could go to camp Jupiter, to meet up with Nico if he still survived.

I was glad I brought some money. I put half of it on a rock with a letter for Nico. It said:

Nico, If you're reading this, you're still alive. Go to camp Jupiter, I'll be there. I love you, and I'll see you soon.

Your sunshine.

I took a taxi to the bay area. Once I got there, I asked for Reyna and Hazel. They came running.

"What's the matter?" Reyna asked. "Did Zeus not apologize? Where is Nico?

I told her what happened.  Once I finished, I was crying.

"We need to find him. Will, we will find Nico. I'll get a car, and you can show me where you last saw him. Hazel, stay here in case he comes here. But he's probably limping around, or fainted somewhere."

Or dead, I silently thought. Reyna and Hazel stared at me. Oh shoot, I said that out loud.

"He is not dead," Reyna said firmly. "He's a whole lot tougher than to die because of a few hellhounds."

"Yes," Hazel said. "And if he was dead, I would feel it. He's not dead."

Reyna and I got a car. We drove to where I saw him last. I couldn't find him. I searched and searched, but he was gone.

I got into the car and started crying. We were never going to find Nico.

Reyna sat down next to me. "He's lucky to have you," she said.

"What do you mean?" I sniffled.

"He's lucky to have a boyfriend that cares and gets this upset if he's gone. He's lucky to have a boyfriend that searches for him, not stopping for anything. He's lucky to have a boyfriend who would do anything for him."

"I'm lucky to have him. I'm lucky to have that brave hero, that boy who blushes so much, but loves me. I'm lucky to have a boy who kisses me and wants to be around me. If anything, I'm the lucky one."

We sat there in silence. "We will find him," Reyna said. She looked out the window, and smiled. "At least we know he's alive."

I looked up. "How do you know?"

"Look," she pointed at a piece of paper on the ground.

I got out of the car, and saw someone had written on the back of my note.

Hey, sunshine. I'll meet you at camp Jupiter. Knowing Reyna, she probably drove back here with you, looking for me. I'll see you soon.

Death boy.

"He's alive," I said. "Nico's alive."
