Chapter 21: Will

After finding Nico on the news, I called for Jason.

"Can you fly me to Kentucky?" I asked.

"Why?" He said.

"Because that's where Nico is!" I shouted.

"Then yes. Let's do it right now," he said.

I grabbed his hand so we could fly. The second Jason was about to take off, he stopped. 

"I can't fly," he said. "Somethings preventing me."

"Okay, I'll find a car," I replied. I was not giving up on Nico.

I found a car, and Percy, Annabeth, Jason, and Piper were coming.

We drove in silence. After about a hour and a half, Percy had to pee. I pulled over at a gas station.

While waiting for Percy, we grabbed some snacks. This was going to be a long day. 

We got back on the road. It soon turned to night. 

When we finally got to Kentucky, I couldn't find him. Anywhere. We searched and searched. No luck. When we were about to give up, I saw a sweater. Nico's sweater. He would never not have this on. I showed it to Jason.

Jason gasped. "He's in trouble. He would never leave this sweater."

I looked throughout the night. Not a trace. Until I heard someone yell my name. 

"Will!" Someone that sounded like Nico yelled.

 I turned around. No one was there. I listened for more, but none came. I was probably sleep deprived.  

I walked back to the car. "I can't find him," I told my friends.

We left. I could not give up hope, but hope was hard to find. Would I ever see Nico again?
