Chapter 37: Will again

I walked with Nico on my shoulder, trying to wake him up. We couldn't walk the whole way home.

Nico screamed once in a while. He was probably having nightmares about Tartarus. 

We didn't encounter any monsters, which was a relief. But Nico wouldn't wake up. 

I checked on him for the hundredth time this hour. He was still breathing, but not as much as a half a hour ago. 

I shook him. "Hey, death boy. Wake up. Please wake up," I pleaded.

"Bianca?" He asked. Not this again.

Percy looked at me. "Why did he ask Bianca?" He wondered.

"He's done it before. I usually just play along," I told him.

I realized where we were. Right outside of Elysium. A girl walked up to us. "Is that, is that Nico?" She asked. 

Percy and Annabeth's mouths dropped open. "B-Bianca?" Percy asked. "I thought you choose to be reborn."

"I did. But when I was born, I wasn't healthy enough, so I died. My mind hadn't yet formed enough, so I got my old one back. Nico didn't know because it was just like another baby died," Bianca said.

I shook Nico again. He needed to wake up. Bianca realized the problem.

"He was always hard to wake up," she said. She walked over to him and started to sing a song in Italian.

Nico was awake, with tears streaming down his face. Bianca hugged him, and he squeezed back.

"Bianca, how are you, why are you-"

"Nico, shh. It's okay. I'm here now, and I'm not leaving."

Nico glanced over at me. "Will, can you come over here? I need you."

I walked over and slipped my hand in his. He smiled.

"Ti amo Will. Ti amo Bianca," He told us. I could understand what he said now.

Bianca looked at us, confused. "Nico, did you just tell this... boy that you love him?"

Nico smiled at her. "Yes, I did. Bianca, this is my boyfriend, Will," then he added, "Is that okay?"

"Yes, Nico, that's perfectly fine. I just didn't know," Bianca apologized. She turned to me. "I'll question you later."

I groaned. "I've already got that from everyone. Your father, Hades, threatened to send me to the fields of punishments."

She laughed. Nico turned to her. "How are you here?" He asked. 

Bianca explained to him what she told Percy, Annabeth, and I earlier.

Nico smiled. "So, are you coming with us back to the mortal world?" He asked.

"Of course!" She replied.

Percy spoke in. He and Annabeth had been chatting about something for the past few minutes. "Since we could bring Bianca back, can we try to bring Jason back?" He asked.

Nico thought for a second. "We could, but if Hades caught us, he would send Bianca back."

"But," I started. "I could bring Bianca back to camp half blood while you do that."

Nico smiled. "Then we can. Thanks Will. You're the best."

Bianca scoffed. "What about me?"

"Yes, you too," Nico said.

"What about Percy and I?" Annabeth asked.

"Yes, both of you are also the best," Nico grumbled.

I laughed. "Bianca, I know the way back. You can follow me," I told her.

"Hey, Bianca?" Nico called. 

"Yeah?"

"Protect Will. I'm not worried about you, but Will, well, he's a healer not a fighter."

Bianca laughed. "I will keep Will safe."

He walked up to her and kissed her on the cheek. Then he walked up to me and kissed me on the lips. "Love you two," Nico said.

Percy turned to him. "What, no kiss for me?"

Nico groaned. "Shut up, Percy."

Percy laughed. "I bet a year ago you would have taken me up on that offer."

Nico looked away. 

"By, death boy," I called. 

"By, sunshine," he called back.

I led Bianca towards the exit of the underworld.
