Chapter 33: Nico

(Some quotes from trials of Apollo.)

A few months past. It was January. Close to my birthday. 

Will ran to me. "My dad is here," he said.

"Apollo?" I asked.

He nodded his head. "He's a mortal."

I was confused, but Will hurried off. He said something about having to heal someone. I didn't hear the rest.

Apollo came up to me later. "I remember you. Is it Nicolas, son of Hades?" He asked.

"Nico di Angelo," I corrected. "So it's true. You're completely mortal. There's an aura of death around you. A thick possibility of death."

Meg snorted. "Sounds like a weather forecast."

Will walked up behind me. He placed his hand on my shoulder. "Nico, we need to talk about your people skills."

"Hey, I'm just stating the obvious. If this is Apollo, and he dies, we're all in trouble," I replied.

Will turned to Apollo. "I apologize for my boyfriend."

"Could you not-" I started.

"Would you prefer special guy? Or significant other?"

"Significant annoyance in your case," I grumbled.

"I'll get you for that," Will said.

Chiron walked up and explained some things to Apollo and Meg. Then he turned to us. 

"Will, Nico, could you please tell the other campers we'll gather for dinner in one hour?" Chiron asked us. "I'll give everyone an update, then. In the meantime, no one should roam the camp alone. Use the buddy system."

"Understood," Will looked at me. "Will you be my buddy?"

"You're such a dork," I replied.

We walked off, telling the campers. After that, we headed to my cabin.

"Hey, death boy," Will said. "I love you."

"I love you too," I replied.

Once the hour was up, we headed to the dinning area. I sat next to Will. Apollo was at the table, also.

After a little bit of chatting, Apollo turned to me. "Aren't you supposed to sit at the Hades table?" He asked.

I explained to him what I told Chiron a few months ago. Apollo asked, "And is it true?"

I smiled. "I have a note from my doctor."

"I'm his doctor," Will said.

We chatted about it for a little while longer. Today was a good day.

Days past. Apollo then had to go on a quest to do a bunch of stuff. Something about the oracle not working.

Then, he came back. We helped him with the quest, and Will of course got upset when I shadow traveled. But I needed to do it.

We were sitting at the campfire, talking, and Percy noticed something in the sky. Leo.

Leo was back. Finally. There was a girl riding on his back. We said hi, and Leo goofed off like normal.

Then I helped form a line so people could start hitting Leo. I really wanted to hit him.

Once I sat down, I put my hand in Wills. Leo noticed, and walked over to us. He stared for a second, then asked, "Are you two dating?"

I nodded. 

"Yes! Solangelo is cannon!" He yelled. Will and I laughed.

Then, curfew came. I gave Will a kiss, and walked off, only to bump into Leo.

"You kissed him!" He yelled.

"Yes, I did. He's my boyfriend, and I think I can kiss him," I replied.

"I love solangelo!" Leo said, then walked away.

I went into my cabin, and fell asleep thinking about Will.
