Chapter 6: ' I can't lose her'

Once they reached the hospital, he looked and saw that Will was already there. Once Jay  looked at wills reaction it was in unreadable.

' Erin Lindsey, 30 years old. Bullet to the chest slash wound. Her bp is low' once Gabby spoke Erins body started to shake.

' what's happening Will' he said in a worried voice.

' She's coding get in her into surgery now ' Will screamed. The nurses took her but jay grabbed his brothers hand looking directly in his eyes with tears threatening to fall again.

' please save her ' he said begging his brother.

Jay went into the waiting room where Hank and the rest of the unit were there. He sat down and stared at the blood on his hands. Her blood. She was about to slip away from her at any moment now. And he doesn't know what he would do if she goes. That would destroy him so much. To the point where he doesn't care about living.

Kim sat there with her head in her hands. Erin came back and she was going throughs so much, now she had been shot and was actually on the verge of life and death. She looked up and saw the worry on the face of her teammates. Everyone knew Erin except from Hailey. She was the sister of Kevin and Ruzek. She was her best friend. She was voights daughter. She was alvins niece and she was the love of jays life.

After a few hours passed dr Halstead and dr Rhodes made their way into the waiting room to see Erins family.

' how is she will?' Jay jumped up to his brother.

' she's stable. We managed to take the bullet out in time. The bullet got in between her chest and shoulder, for now she slipped into coma due to the bullet. Now it's only time that will tell us when she wakes up. But we will keep a very close eye on her' Will informed the family. each one of them looked devastated. Dr Rhodes knew this unit, there were one of the toughest units. And Erin Lindsay  she was the toughest out of them all. She had helped him in the past now it was his turn to return the favour. He had high hopes that she would be okay. They all let out a breath they didn't know they were keeping.

' can we see her' olinsky asked.

' yeah  one at a time' dr Rhodes spoke and left the team. Will looked at hank to say to come over.

' go on jay go see her' Hailey came from behind and put her hand on his shoulder.

' no no I can't just yet' he put his hand between his temples.

Hailey looked back at jay who just gave her a nod. Kim went in first to see her best friend.

' what's up doc' voight asked.

' since she was just shot and with her condition we have to do an operation to get the cancer out' he spoke.

' you think that's a good idea' voight answered the question the doctor infront of him.

' yeah we won't be able to take eveuething out but most of it we will be able to. So once Erin has woken up me feeling a bit better we're going to have to do an operation so it doesn't spread further'

' okay then. You do what you have to do to make her better. She's the only person I have left' hank voight said. Will looked at the person infront him not as jays boss as Erins dad. Her father figure. This man looked broken, to see her daughter like this.

' Will' hank said as the doctor turned around.

' thank you'

' Erins like my sister anything for her' he said genuinely. Since the day jay and Erin  had gotten together he had always seen her as a sister. Even though she didn't need protecting cause she can kick anyone's ass he would be there for her whenever she needed.
