After a hectic week, Kim's wedding was finally done, all the planning and everything else was over and done with which Erin was thankful for, not that she didn't like helping, but all of this wasn't her thing. She was never that type of girl to get all bridezilla but life always had a way of changing people, cause here she was with her book and pen out listing the things she needed for her own wedding.

In a few weeks, she was going to Mrs Jay Halstead, and she was absolutely excited. She never ever thought this day would ever come because of her shitty childhood, she never thought that she would find a man who would love her with all the flaws and her past due to the men in her life when she was a teen. She was allowed to be come fully vulnerable for once in her life. But the moment,  she had seen the love between her pseudo father and mother, she knew that one day she would be capable of love, that one day someone will do all the things that Hank did for Camille, that someone will look at her with so much love the way Hank looked at Camille. They were a big inspiration when it came to love, Camille once told her ' it doesn't matter if you had a bad childhood, what matters is that you overcame it but do not let that come in the way of love and happiness' and she did for a while but she learnt to let it go, to lean on someone else for a change.

" hey Erin" her father entered the cafe and gave her a side hug.

" you took your time didn't you?" She retorted back, he took off his leather jacket and put it at the back of his chair.

" well what can I say, I am a sergeant, I have people to catch"

" Hey Hank, you took a while, poor Erin here has been waiting for ages for you" Linda came, this is the woman who had been in the cafe since Hank had reduced Erin. Erin smiled and Hank looked at the both of them.

" you know I work right, you know I have a job linda" he said, as he looked at the woman infront of him.

" don't we all... anyway you want your usual" they both nodded and thanked her.

" so whats going on? Is everything okay? Did the doctors say anything? Did Jay do something, cause I swear to god, if he did something I will-''

Erin was belwirded by this line of questioning " woah woah, hold your roll. Everything is fine, Jay didn't do anything, you most likely have threatened him before so I don't think he's going to do anything" Erin let out a small laugh, and Hank relaxed in his seat, he raised his eyebrow wondering what was going on.

" so, do you remember that massive beach house we went to" Hank nodded his head wondering where this was leading too.

" do you still own it?" She questioned, he looked at her and replied back " yeah I do why?" He questioned back.

" I want to get married there.. and I know you're wondering why. It's because, that reminds me of a time when we all were together, me, you, Justin and... Camille... mom" she sighed " it reminds me of the simpler times, it's the perfect place for me"

" I think it's perfect Erin, I know for a fact that Camille would love for you to get married there" she smiled at her father " what else have you got left on that list?" She waffled on about how much things there was left to do, and that the rest is up to Jay. He looked at her as she went on and on, this woman right infront of him, his Daughter made him so proud, he was a proud father of how much she overcame and achived in life, and in his heart he knows that Camille would be jumping up and down squealing at her happiness, her new life, her new beginning.. he prayed that she would get all the happiness in the world, after what she had been through.. whatever pain she was suffering he would take it in a heartbeat if he could, but he can't, but what he can do is be there and make things easier for her. That's all he wished for her in life.

Jay walked into mollies as he finished work, he  was going to meet up with his brother and father. He only came out knowing that Erin would be with Hank for the rest of the day which meant he could catch up with his father and brother.

" hey Jay, you alright?" Gabby asked as he walked into the bar " I'm doing good Gabby what about you?" He asked his best friends sister/ his ex.

" eh I'm doing alright.. where's Erin, is she okay?"

" yeah she's doing good too, she's with Hank today"

He bid her goodbye and got his drink to see his family sat in a booth. He hugged his father and his brother and sat beside his brother.

" how's Erin?" His father jumped in, Jay was just in shock.

" don't want to ask how your son is doing, no hello Jay, how are you how is work" Jay retired back, will held in a laugh and his dad let out a smalll laugh.

" she is my favourite what can I say?" Will shrugged his shoulders at that, since Erin had been introduced to their father she had become the favourite child.

" she's doing fine dad, she's out with Hank today" he mentioned, he took a swing at his beer.

" when's the wedding?" Will asked.

" in a few weeks" he replied back, pat looked at his son and spoke " I am proud of you Jay, you found a lucky woman to spend the rest of your life with. I couldn't be more prouder... and I know your mom would be proud too" they sat in silence for a moment after that.

Jay changed the subject by asking how his brother was and how is nephew is. He even told them about the huge amount of things left to do before the wedding. Erin was laid back in these kind of things and Jay was the kind of person who would stress out over every little thing there was, this is how their relationship worked. He admits that he is very uptight with his cleanliness.. a bit too much in Erin's case. Sometimes Erin pissed him off the way she would put her shoes, of how she wouldn't put a coaster underneath her cups and other little things in return Erin would just take the mic out of him, just for the fun of it, but that's why he loved her.

After a while, the halstead men were still at their booth not knowing what time it was when a familiar voice had broke them out of their talks " hello Halstead men" they all turned around to see Erin stood there, with a smile on her face and her hands in her pocket. Jay stood up and kissed her " hey babe, what are you doing here? Thought you would be with voight" he spoke.

" look at the time" he looked down at his watch and realised it had been a long time since he had come to the bar, and time went quick. " move" she commanded at him, Jay moved out of the way so Erin could meet his father and his brother, he took the opportunity to get her an orange juice. He was walking to the bar to order when Gabby handed him her  drink, she already knew. He nodded at her as a way of a thank you and leaned back to look at her family. Will onvicoily sajd something stupid in which Erin had punched him and his father was laughing at these actions, Gabby leaned over the bar and spoke " she's going to fit right in with the Halsteads isn't she" his eyes were twinkling " of course she is" he thanked Gabby one more time and brought Erin's drink to her.

" come raise your bottles and your glass tiger" they all raised their glasses and Erin rolled her eyes to see what her soon to be brother in law was going to say " don't roll your eyes at me... anyway, we want to welcome you in the Halstead family, we hope that you always stay happy even with nurse Halstead here" jay shot him a glare " you already know your our dads favourite, but I can't wait till you become my sister in law tiger.. cheers" Erin smiled at wills speech and drank her drink.

After an hour of talking, Jay and Erin made their way out of the bar " we only have a few weeks left till our marriage you excited?" Their hands were laced as they were walking to their car " I am, the only reason I am excited is because now I will be your father's favourite daughter in law now too!"

" are you getting jealous halstead?" She questioned as she raised her eyebrows " never" he rolled his eyes at her in a playful manner.

" I'll race you home Halstead, last one to reach there has to give the other one a mean message" she winked at him, she let go of his hand and they both went into the cars.

" you know you'll win"

" of course, and you also know how much I love those messages you give me" she got in the car and gave her a mischievous smile, Jay prayed to god everyday that she would be as happy as she is now, that she lives a long life.. that she doesn't get ripped away from him.. but he always has that fear in him.. all the time and it scared the life out of him.
