Chapter 27: The proposal.

The next day it was Erin's appointment for her chemo, they were currently getting ready when there was a knock on the door. Jay was in the bathroom, and he told Erin to check who it was. When she opened the door, she was suprised.

" Justin" she squealed. She wrapped her arms around her and gave her brother a hug.

" hi shorty" she laughed and withdrew from the hug, ever since Justin had grew taller than her, he had started to call her shorty.

He entered the apartment and smiled at her " what are you doing here? I thought you didn't have holidays to come back" they both walked into the living room and sat on the couch.

" actually I took some weeks off, I wanted to spend time with olive and my kid and also you" he said.

" I'm actually heading out for my chemo right now, but you can stay here and when I come back I will be spending all my time with you"

" actually he is taking you to your appointment" jay spoke, as he stood in the doorway of their bedroom and was putting on his jacket.

" what" she questioned confused, she scrunched up her face. Jay came over and gave Justin a hand shake and a manly hug.

" yes Erin, I will be taking you cause Jay here needs to go in work before pops bites his head" Jay grabbed his badge from the table and hooked it onto his jeans.

Halstead shaked his head and smiled " that is true" he laughed. Erin went into the bedroom and went to grab her coat and hat.

Whilst she was in the room, Justin looked at Kay and spoke " you ready for today?" He asked with happiness laced in his voice.

" i am, so your ready? You know what to do right" Jay put his hand in his pocket, and touched the box with the ring in it.

" yeah I got it covered"

" I'm ready, let's go" all three of them headed out of the door and to their car, Justin sat in the car whilst Erin said her goodbye to Jay.

" stay safe out there" she grabbed onto his jacket and then gave him a kiss on the lips.

" I will, now put this on" he grabbed the hat from her hands and put it on her " now you look cute" he snickered, he knew she hated this.

" shut up halstead, get to work or else hanks going to have your ass" she retreated back to Justin's car.

" this ass has gotten your hand written all over it" he snickered back. She shaked her head and sat in the car and Jay went into her car.

Jay sat in his car and drove off. He was so excited for today, he had been wishing for this to come for a long time. Since he had met her, he knew she was going to be his wife. He knew she had commitment issues, but he knew that she was starting to let loose and he was happy about that.
He started thinking about the time that he had asked Justin's blessing to marry Erin.

FLASHBACK.

Jay had texted Justin to meet him at this local cafe, near the station. He walked into the cafe and saw Justin was already there waiting for him. He gave him a handshake and sat down opposite him in the booth, Jay had ordered coffee for the both of them.

" not that I don't like you, but how come you asked me to meet you here" Justin asked, Jay started rubbing his hands together showing that he was nervous. He already went through Hank voight, so this couldn't be that bad.
