Chapter 39: happiness

There are so many moments in life where you wonder about life overall. You think about whether this is it for you in this life, this is how you were supposed to end your story,

The ticking of the clock that's coinciding with the taps of your legs is infuriating. The clock that was displayed on the wall, it white face contrasting with the clinical surroundings, ticks methodically. Each tick methodically seems to resonate louder in the quiet room, marking the passing seconds with a sense of urgency and tension. The patients lying in their bed can't held but focus on the second, a constant reminder of the passing time and the uncertainty that comes with it. The ticking of the clock becomes a soundtrack to the moments of hope, fear and waiting that fills in the hospital room.

" Erin, Erin" was all she could hear but in a distorted and a blurry scene. She snapped out of her thoughts when Jay had squeezed her hand a bit harder this time. She regained consciousness and saw that Will was stood there with Connor beside him. She did not know what to expect. She could not read their faces.

" what's the report saying doc" Hank spoke who was sat on the chair beside Erin.

Will and Connor looked at each other for a moment before looking at Erin.

" your officially cancer free Erin"

WHAT! She did not know what she was hearing, she could not believe it. Jay stood up in excitement and gave Erin the biggest hug in the world with tears spilling out of his eyes. But then he saw Erin, who was now still. " Er, look at me" she turned her head around to her husband who was now locking his eyes with her.

" say it again" she whispered, closing her eyes thinking this was all a dream " your cancer free babe" she opened her eyes and looked again in the room and everyone was still there. She let out a huge smile and jumped into her husbands arms.

" I'm free, I'm free" she kept repeating again and again with happy tears running down her face. Will stood there along with Connor looking at the happiness that was shown across the girl that was loved by everyone, and they were really happy about this too when they had found out.

Later that day, Erin and Jay decided to go to Mollys and told the rest of the gang to meet them there.

" do you know why they called us here?" Adam asked as he nudged his wife " why would I know?" She shrugged her shoulders and gave him a pointed look. He gave her the look ' your her best friend' look.

They had even called Antonio here too, now they were all wondering what was going on. The happy couple walked in.  They gave Antonio a hug and asked how he is.

" what's happening? What's going on? Why did you guys call us here?" Adam bombarded them with questions. Jay and Erin laughed at his curiosity. " what the hell is going on?" Erin raised an eyebrow at her best friend.

" sorry for swearing,  but I am tired and I have a big giant child inside of me who is kicking me non stop" she spoke, in an irritating tone.

" you don't wanna mess with her" Atwater muttered under his breath.

" okay okay fine" Erin spoke, she sat down at the table along with Jay. " we have some news"

" your pregnant!" Adam shouted, " shut up you goof" Kim smacked him. Cause if she was pregnant she would tell her first.

" are you ready for it... I am cancer free guys" they all looked at her in shock, Kim was so happy that tears were foaming in her eyes as she seen everyone hug and congratulate her. Kim was the last one to hug her, she hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear " I knew you could do this., I am so proud of you"

After hanging out with the gang, Erin and Jay made their way home and relaxed into bed. All happy about their day that they had. " i am so happy right now" she spoke as she cuddled Jay. Her head on his chest. " so am I.. so am I" he whispered.
