Chapter 35: Remembering

There was only a week left till the big halstead-Lindsay wedding, everything was prepared, invitations had been sent out and everything ready for the big day.Erin was in fact getting ready now, to go hanks house since it was tradition that the bride and groom could not see each other before the wedding day. Erin didn't believe in this, but Hank and Jay pushed her. It was supposedly going to be the day before but Hank told her to stay at her house for a week so they could spend some time together before the wedding, and Jay completely understood that. right now what Erin needed is to spend some time with her father, she had been upset and mad lately. Her hair had been falling out since the chemo and she didn't like it, no matter how many times he told her that she looks beautiful she would get angry and he knew why this was happening he understood when she was coming from, she told him she was going to get a wig soon and even though he told her 100 times that she didn't need it, of course she wouldn't listen cause of course she is stubborn.

Jay was currently in the kitchen, pouring himself a coffee in his travel mug when he heard a knock on the door, and it was Kim.

" hey Jay, how's it going? Where's my best friend?" Kim asked excitedly, if anyone was really excited for this wedding it was Kim Burgess-Ruzek.

He was about to answer when Erin answered for him " I'm right here and I'm all packed.. best friend" she laughed as she came forward and gave her a hug.

" are you ready to move into voights for a week?" She questioned as Jay shut the door behind her, " of course I am, all my bags are ready.. let's go.. can't get late for my appointment and if I don't get home on time Hank might kill me"

Kim grabbed the two bags on the floor and walked away " I'll let you guys say your goodbyes" she winked at them and both of them looked down, all of a sudden getting shy.

Jay walked towards her and held him in her arms " do we really have to do this.. I mean I did insist it but come on.. I can take it back" he could hear her let out a giggle which viberated against his chest.

" no can do, if I don't go now Hank will literally drag me out of here.. and it won't be the first time he has dragged me from somewhere" they withdrew from the hug and Erin put her arms on his shoulders, lacing behind his head, he put his hands on her hips and leaned in for a kiss.

" I'm going to miss you" he said between his kisses, " me too"

Erin gave him a final kiss and walked out of the door not before saying something " if Ruzek does plan a crazy bachelor party, don't get all crazy with him" he looked at her sheepishly.

" you know I won't.. and have you-"

" yes I have packed my medicines, got it all covered. I love you, the next time I'll see you I will officially becoming mrs Erin halstead" she smiled , which showed her beautiful dimples.

After Erin had gone, Jay made his way to work. He walked into the precinct, hung his head low so platt wouldn't see him " hey chuckles come here" oof that was a close one.

He walked towards her and put his arms on her desk, she swatted away his arms which he replied " ouch serge, was there a need for that" she gave him a no messing about smile.

" there one thing I have to say, your marrying Erin. And she is one of my children, I have known her since she was a teen, you better not hurt her or I swear you won't be fearing voight or Alvin it'll be me"

" I got it serge" he smiled at her and nodded his head, " but I am really happy that she found someone good like you" now he knows that was diffucult for her to say.

" wow serge, you complemented me.. now you never say that.. is that hard for you to say on a daily basis"

" oh shut it chuckles, now run along.. got some criminals to catch today" he walked away laughing at her sayings. He buzzed himself off and made his way up, when he reached to the top of the stairs the boys were clapping for him. God knows why. He went to his desk and they were all staring at him, Ruzek made his way over to his friends desk and sat on the edge of it.
