Later that day

Michael's POV

"Michael?" I heard someone call from outside of the room.

I groaned and turned up my music even louder. "I'm not in the mood... Go away..." I said grumpily, even though I had no idea who I was talking to.

"Michael it's me... Lisa..." She yelled through the door.

I stood up abruptly. "Lisa... Just a second." I called to her. What is she doing here? I turned the music off and ran over to the mirror and smoothed my hair down. I walked over to the door and opened it, forcing a smile on my face. "Hi, honey..."

"Hi, oh I missed you..." She grinned, throwing her arms around my neck.

"I missed you too... What a surprise..." I reached around her and closed the door.

"I know I should've called first, but I was afraid you would stand me up like you did last time..." She said, walking past me and sitting on the bed.

"What do you mean stand you up?" I asked, sitting down next to her.

"Wow, you don't even remember? You said you would send a car for me and the kids but you never did..."

I slapped my hand to my forehead. "Oh baby, I forgot all about that... A lot has been going on around here..."

"So much that you couldn't call me? I haven't heard from you in 3 days."

"I know, I'm sorry. I just had a lot on my mind..." I sighed.

She folded her arms. "Like what?"

"Just... A lot." I replied.

"You didn't answer my question." She said sternly.

"I don't want to talk about it right now, baby."

She scoffed. "That's so unfair! You completely avoid me for 3 days and you don't even offer an explanation!" She raised her voice.

I wrinkled my eyebrows. "It was only 3 days... Calm down. You do realize I have a family, right?"

"Yes I do realize that, thank you very much!"

"Then what's the issue? And why are you yelling?" I groaned, rubbing my temples.

"The issue is you still haven't proven to me that you can make this relationship work! And I'm yelling because I'm tired of fighting for your attention!"

"Look, I said I'm sorry. Please lower your voice."

"Is sorry really all you have to say?"

"At the moment, yes."

"Well I don't forgive you."

I shrugged. "I can't you force you to."

She gasped. "Why are you acting this way? You sound a lot different from the man who was just begging for another chance with me."

I rolled my eyes into the back of my head. "I'm not in the mood for this..."

"Well when you get into a relationship with someone you don't get to pick and choose when you feel like dealing with them."

"How about you go home and we talk about this some other time, huh?" I suggested.

She squinted her eyes. "You can't just dismiss me, Michael."

"I'm not dismissing you, I'm asking you very kindly to leave."

She glared at me. "Fine, but if I leave, I won't be coming back..." She threatened.
