Zoe's POV

"Hm, well look at this... Zoe and Mr. One and Only in the same room yet again. Must be fate..." He said with a smirk.

My leg began to shake nervously and Michael placed one hand on top of it to calm me down.

"Hello, Darryl..." I said in a weak voice through the thick glass window that separated us.

"I see you brought your boyfriend. I think we've only formally met once."

Michael gulped and nodded. "Hello."

Darryl giggled and sat up really straight, mocking Michael. "Hello!" He said in a proper tone. "Nice to meet you again, kind sir."

I rolled my eyes as Darryl broke into laughter at his little rendition of Michael. Michael sighed and looked at the floor.

"Darryl, we have an important reason for coming here." I spoke.

He slowly calmed down from laughing and gave me his attention. "And what the hell is it?" He asked coldly.

His change of tone frightened me and I couldn't bring myself to answer the question.

"We want to know why you tried to hurt us." Michael filled in for me. "We want to know what we did to make you hate us so much."

Darryl groaned. "I don't hate y'all, man. I ain't no hater. I just believe in giving people what they deserve."

"And we deserved to die?" I asked.

He snorted. "You deserved a lot of things that are probably worse than dying."

My mouth hung open. How can he say that? "Darryl... We've known each other for so long... I can't believe you would do this to me..."

"Our friendship was a sham. You used me to get to the top and then you left me behind. Then when we met again you used me for sex and left me behind once more. I was never good enough for you. The first time you put the fame before me and the second time you put pretty boy Michael Jackson before me. Friends don't do that. So you were never my fucking friend." He snapped.

I shook my head. "There's no way you believe that. I never left you behind. EVER. I always fought for you, Darryl-"

"You're a damn lie."

"No I'm not. When I hit it big I tried to bring you along for the ride. I tried to keep working with you. I even tried to get you signed with my label and you didn't show up to the meeting! I wanted the best for you but YOU threw it away. Don't blame that on me."

"I didn't need your charity." He argued.

"It wasn't charity... I was just looking out for you..."

Michael cleared his throat. "It sounds like a big misunderstanding to me..."

Darryl stared at Michael. "Zoe, why is he even here?"

"Because he deserves an explanation just like I do." I responded.

He smirked. "Alright, I'll give him an explanation." He leaned in to the glass with an intimidating glare. "Let me explain to you how good it felt making love to your woman. I mean the way she moaned and screamed... I could tell you were doing something wrong because she acted like she'd never been fucked good in her life. Oh and she was so wet and tight-"

"That's enough, Darryl!" I shouted. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "He wanted an explanation..."

I noticed Michael's clenched fists and tightened jaw. I leaned into his ear. "Don't let him win, baby. Don't let him get the best of you..." I whispered.
