Neverland Ranch

Michael's POV

"We'll need a baby gate here... And oh look at this coffee table! She could bump her head on the corners! Who's idea was it to put a coffee table in here?" Zoe rambled.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh boy..."

"Who puts a coffee table in a playroom? Kids don't drink coffee! I mean seriously!"

"Babe, I'll move the coffee table right now, okay?"

She nodded. "Good... My stress level just went down a bit..."

I sighed and pecked her lips before bending down and gripping the sides of the coffee table. I lifted it with ease and headed out of the room. Where am I even supposed to be taking thing? I picked a random room and sat the table inside, making sure to shut the door behind me as I left, or else Zoe would have a cow.

She wants to "baby proof" the entire house. Heaven can't even crawl yet. There's no reason to take crazy safety precautions for every single room. I wouldn't dare say that to her, though. I learned my lesson with Junior not to argue when Zoe goes into mommy mode. I just nod, agree, and stay out of the way.

Trying to avoid being forced to carry something else, I tiptoed past the playroom as quietly as possible. When I thought the coast was clear, I relaxed and smiled to myself. "I am too slick..." I said under my breath.

"Hey too slick, I need you to carry this bookshelf."

I gasped and turned around to find Zoe fighting back laughter. I groaned. "Damn, I thought I made it..."

She smirked and shook her head. "You should know that you can't get anything past me."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah..." I pouted and slumped toward the playroom.

She giggled. "I was just playing, baby. There is no book shelf."

I scoffed. "So you think you're the slick one, huh?"

She walked up to me and wrapped her arms around my neck. "Slick enough to steal your heart."

I gripped her waist and pecked her forehead. "You weren't that slick about it."

"That's true. I made you fall for me hard. You were sprung."

I rolled my eyes. "I was not sprung..."

"You were so sprung. Just admit it..."

I sighed. "Fine, I was sprung..."

"I was the apple of your eye."

"You were the apple of my eye..."

She grinned. "And the moment you first saw me you fell head over heels in love."

I groaned. "And the moment I first saw you I fell head over heels in love."

"Good job, babe. It's good to be honest." She smiled widely, giving me a sweet kiss on the lips. She pulled away and caressed my cheek. "Do you still feel that way?"

"What way?" I asked, still recovering from the kiss.

She looked down at her feet. "Are you still head over heels in love with me? I mean, I know you love me but... I don't know..." She shook her head. "Forget I even asked."

I placed a finger underneath her chin and made her look up at me. "I'm still sprung for you. You're still the apple of my eye. And I'm more in love with you now than I've ever been."

She sighed a breath of relief and pressed her lips to mine. Her reaction confused me a little, but her lips tasted much too sweet for me to stop and ask her about it.
