BECCA

Weeks passed but I couldn't break up with Saint. My parents were always looking for him, and asking about his whereabouts. They also mentioned that they would be happy if I married Saint in the future but I refused. I told them that I couldn't see myself being married to him.

It's not that I was disgusted, but I love Freen so much. She's the reason why I always got excited to go to school even though I hate academics. She was there to cheer me up when I felt so down. She's my everything, and I couldn't see my future without her.

"Becca, where is Freen?" Ms. Saelim asked.

Today, I went alone to the music room for our last practice. I didn't see Freen a while ago, but she attended the class.

"I don't know. I saw her heading to the parking lot."

"She didn't forget our practice, didn't she?"

I shrugged at Ms. Saelim's question. To be honest, Freen was distracted these past few days. She went home early and forgot to message me. I didn't sulk though, I knew she had something more important to do.

"Let's start," Ms. Saelim said and gave me the lyrics though I already memorized them.

"So I. I wanna hold you tight. And tell you that I..." my voice cracked the reason why Ms. Saelim looked at me with knitted brows.

"What's wrong, Becca?" she asked.

"Can we continue tomorrow, miss? I need to get some rest. I talked a lot in my last class." I lied.

I wanted to know where Freen was. Though I understood why she was being distant, I couldn't help myself but miss her.

I went to the parking lot to look for her, but a bunch of gangs left me in shock. My eyes widened when I saw them wearing black leather jackets and leather boots just like the outfit of some mafia syndicate on television. I hid beside one of the cars and slowly peeked though my heart was pounding rapidly.

Who are they? And what are they doing in our school?

"What did I tell you? I told you not to make a move unless I say so. What happened now? Are you making fun of my orders? Do you want to switch positions?" A familiar voice rose, causing me to step a bit closer.

"Your father told us to fetch you here. If you don't want it to fail, you should do it yourself. That's what he said," the guy with red hair said before kneeling.

I covered my mouth in shock when I saw Freen wearing a school uniform, but because of the man standing a while ago, I didn't see her.

"That old hag is testing me." Freen clenched her jaw as she cracked her knuckles. "I need to talk to my girlfriend first, wait for me here."

Freen left and passed the car where I was hiding.

Thank God, she didn't see me.

I looked at the men again, and they were smiling from ear to ear, unlike the red hair who was still kneeling until now.

"I heard that her girlfriend is so beautiful. If Freen isn't our boss daughter's I'll snatch her from her."

The men laughed and told him to shut up. They waited for Freen for almost an hour, and my feet started to numb. My phone buzzed. Thank goodness it was on vibrate mode.

I looked at the caller's id, and it was Freen.

I forgot that she was looking for me. I wanted to get out of the parking lot but her men were watching the entrance. How could I go back without them noticing me?

"Aren't you going to answer my call?"

I was startled when I saw Freen standing in front of me. She was holding her phone and looking at me with a blank expression. Her aura changed. It was like we were in a fantasy movie, and the sky dimmed. The rain started pouring and thunder roared, causing Freen to cover her ears and sat down. The guys went in her direction, but she stopped them by raising her hand. She was trembling in fear.

"Freen, I'm here," I whispered, and gently caressed her head. "Let's go inside your car?" I asked, and she slowly nodded.

The guys looked confused when Freen let me wrap my arms around her waist and led her inside her car. I closed the door and turned to the guy who was holding their guns and pointing them at me. My knees weaken but I stood still and chin up.

"I am her girlfriend." I introduced myself, but they laughed.

"Are you nuts? Her girlfriend is prettier than you," the guy with blonde and clean-cut hair said.

"Stop fooling us. She introduced us to her girlfriend before, if you don't want to die early then you should go home." Their guns were still pointed at me but I didn't care.

Freen introduced someone to them as her girlfriend, but it wasn't me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and was about to speak again when someone grabbed my hands and hugged me tight. I could smell his perfume and I'm sure that this was Saint.

"She's my girlfriend," Saint said. "How many times do I have to tell you, that even though she's my twin, she's not your girlfriend?" Saint asked me, and my tears fell.

"Sorry..." I cried.

Finally, I managed to let it out in front of someone.

"I'll take her home, you take Freen home. She's afraid of the thunder. Take care," Saint said with authority and put her hands on my waist and lead me to where his car was located.

He buckled my seatbelt and went to the driver's seat. I was still crying, so he handed me his handkerchief.

"Now you know how much it hurts," Saint mumbled. "Loving someone who loves someone else."

"When did you find out?" I asked, referring to my secret affair with Freen.

"One week, after we start dating. I know how much you wanted to break up with me at that time, so I tried to hide from you. From your parents. Do you know how much it hurts?" he asked.

"We've only dated because my parents want it, right?" I asked back. I didn't know what he was talking about. We didn't have feelings for each other yet he's acting like this.

"I've been in love with you since the beginning, Becca! I tried to ask you out but then you mentioned you don't like someone who likes you. So I concealed my feelings for you, just to be with you every day." He confessed. "I love you so much to the point that I'm losing my mind when you chose Freen over me."

I looked at him in disbelief. I didn't know where he was coming from. Am I numb for not feeling the love he was saying? Or it was because I was too focused on Freen that I couldn't see anyone but her?
