Dragonstone, Autumn 128 AC
It had been months of exchanging letters with Winterfell, when my father decided it was time to visit them in person. We were to leave on the morrow, we'd been planning this for the past few fortnights.
Through all the buzz of our journey I had been slacking off on writing to Aemond. He doesn't know of my betrothal and I don't know how to tell him.
Sandra had told me about her and Meagor less than a fortnight after I'd found out myself. I laughed and told her I knew, to which she was shocked and scared of how I'd react. I'm supportive and help them sneak around. Since he's not classified as a royal member he's not exactly breaking rules, but it's still frowned upon. And Sandra would be labeled a whore and unworthy of being my handmaiden.
My mother had been persistent on me taking more etiquette lessons. She wanted me to be a dignified lady when meeting Lord Cregan. But from my correspondence with the young man he doesn't quite mind my unladylike personality, not that I'm a complete heathen. I simply don't care for embroidery, music, being the damsel in destress for a knight to save.
Currently, I was sitting in a room with my septa, learning how to properly introduce myself to a Lord.
"And when you visit them at their home you thank them for welcoming you. Go on try." Septa Mara stated.
I sighed heavily, " Thank you my lord, for welcoming us to your home. I'm deeply honored to be your guest." I jested.
I knew what to do and for them to continuously make me relearn it was annoying. She huffed and shook her head dismissively. I took that as a sign that I could leave and ran before she could rethink it.
"You are to wait by Starflame once you arrive. Yourself and the rest of us will greet them together. And Cannibal stays here." Daemon stated. He'd gone over this a million times but added that Cannibal isn't aloud only now.
"What! Why can't I bring him? He's my dragon."
"He's intimidating," he sighed "we don't want your future husband to be terrified of you."
"You may not, but I do. If he's intimidated then that's his problem." I started. "Plus from our letters he's seemed intrigued about them both."
Daemon knew there was no arguing, I'd win even if he didn't want to, he'd let me. "Fine." I smiled brightly and kissed his cheek, jogging out of the room.
The next morning I made sure I had my best riding gear on, insulated with fleece. Winterfell was in the beginnings of deep winter and I knew layers would be my best option. On top of my leather was a cloak of fur and a shawl to match. It was feminine but also fitting for the weather we'd be facing.
I got to Starflame and Cannibal as the sun was rising, they were just waking up and had to shake off the grogginess. I decided I'd ride Cannibal instead of Starflame, I want to make a point to my father that I do what I want with my dragons. He's never been fond of Cannibal given his history but he's a sweet boy to me.
I have a better bond with both my dragons then most have with only one. I waited for the others impatiently, it seemed I was the only one on time. Once they arrived the sun was on the horizon and we took to the sky.
As we pasted White Harbor I knew we'd be arriving soon. It was late in the day and you could see the sun making it's way down, not fully on the horizon. We'd arrive before dinner which was great because I'd yet to have a meal today.
Sandra packed me fruits and crackers but nothing of substance. She was a bit hesitant to allow me to go without her, but when Meagor promised to look after me she calmed a bit.
