After Changbin washed the blood off his face, Chan looked at his injuries and treated them, the eldest said, "I'll leave you alone." Then he went out and closed the door gently. A slightly uncomfortable silence reigned in the room. I wanted to say something but didn't know what. I really hoped that this time I was actually facing the right Changbin.
"So... why did you let Jisung hit you?" I asked, breaking the silence. He looked at me briefly and then said, "I'm sure his sadness turned to anger when he saw me. I'd be angry too if that had happened to me. Besides, he doesn't know about the whole doppelganger thing yet," he took a short breath in and breath out heavy. "I don't understand why you're here either. You still have faith in me even though you saw a person pretending to be me kill a friend."
I was silent. I didn't know why I trusted him. But it just felt right. Our eyes met and my heart skipped a beat. His eyes were so beautifully brown. Some would think that their were "just" brown eyes, but for me their were the eyes that I kept getting lost in.
And I could notice a difference. When doppelganger-Changbin was there, it sometimes felt wrong and I often felt like I was imagining my feelings. But in that moment, when I looked into Changbin's eyes, I could clearly see that it was him. Even though the two looked identical it was like my heart knew who the real one was.
"I just know it's you," I said, smiling slightly.
"When your doppelganger was here, some things didn't felt right. And sometimes he reacted differently than you would have. I just thought to myself that because we left our world, you became different. A lot has happened. I'd like to just go back to how it was before. Just like when we stayed at Chans. Everything was nice back then. I miss that..." I continued.
The older one said nothing. He just looked at me. He studied my face very closely. He memorized every single feature. "You can't imagine how much I've missed you," he almost whispered.
I couldn't help but smile.
I moved a little closer to him on the bed where we were sitting and rested my head on his shoulder. We were so close. Our hands almost touched so he took my hand in his and the touch made it tingle from my fingertips to my toes. I almost melted into his touch.
"I'm sorry I yelled at you when you first showed up in front of the house," I said after moments of silence. "It's okay you didn't know anything," he said in a soft voice. I let out a satisfied breath and scooted a little closer.
"Does your nose hurt a lot?" I asked slightly worried. "Shall I tell the truth? Jisung can hit really hard, it hurts a lot. But I'll get over it," he exhaled.
He squeezed my hand very lightly and gently before saying: "Did you know that Jeongin knows something is going on between us?" I chuckled. "Wasn't it obvious? I'm pretty sure the others noticed it too. I just can't stop looking at your beauty," I said in a gentle voice as well. My thumb caressed the back of his hand as if by itself. "Stop being cheesy," he said, letting out a laugh.
I smiled widely and never wanted to let go of him. I wanted to be as close to him as possible. And in that moment I was very close to him. I wanted to say something like, "I really like you," or "I fell for you," or something along those lines. But no words could describe my feelings. And it was enough that we just sat there in silence, holding hands and being close to each other. That was all I needed. What we needed.
