Facing fears

Sebastian lay staring up at the ceiling from his dorm room bed, his mind swirling around the events from the night before as he twirled his wand between his fingers. He didn't know what to do, was it obvious? He was keeping a secret he knew he wouldn't be able to hide for much longer. Did Lena know? He knew he should tell her, he should've told her a long time ago but it felt too late. She wouldn't ever forgive him, not... now at least. The only thing he could do now is do whatever he could to protect her.

"Sebastian, are you ready?" Ominis asks, cracking open the door to their dorm. "No." He mumbles. "By the tone of your voice I suppose you aren't coming?" Sebastian knew that Ominis wasn't stupid, and that he knew that something wasn't right. "You didn't have dinner either..." He points out, hoping for a response, he waits for a long moment before sighing. "Lena isn't going to be happy with you if you don't eat and you don't want a disappointed girlfriend, do you?" Sebastian knew his best friend meant well, but he needed him off his back. "Ominis I will meet up with you both later, simply tell her I slept in."

Over in the Hufflepuff common room Lena sits at the edge of her bed, staring at the wound on her leg. It was sore from it once again being ripped open, she decided a skirt wasn't the best idea anymore. Time to cover this thing up. She gets up and looked through her drawers finding some black pants and a button up to put on with a yellow and grey checkered blazer. "Good enough." She says, getting changed. She couldn't stop thinking about the curse, the fact that she lied to Sebastian about it and about what would happen if he did find out. Not only would he be angry, but he would be heartbroken and probably triggered. She didn't want to see him get lost in trying to find a cure for her and she knew he would just like he did for Anne.

"Lena, you're awake. I came to check on you I'm so glad you're okay." She turns to see Poppy walking up to her with a gentle smile. "Hey Poppy, how do you know?" She asks, tilting her head with confusion. Poppy explained that last night while they were at the courtyard with the professors Black announced at dinner that there had been an impersonation of Professor Sharp and that students were to proceed with caution when interacting with others and to report to them if anything suspicious was happening. Lena scoffed at the idea of Professor Black, that secret keeping, ignorant son of a bitch.

After they caught up they left for the great hall where they met up with Natty, Imelda, and Ominis. "Lena, I am so glad to see that you are okay my friend." She says giving her a warm hug. "I'm glad to see you Natty, thank you." She responds gently, quickly noticing that Sebastian wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"Hey where's Sebastian?" She asks, Ominis sighs. "He didn't want to come." He says, shaking his head. "I think he may just need a bit of time, I'm sure we will see him in class." She could tell he was trying to be optimistic and reassuring so that she wouldn't worry. Ominis seemed to be the only one that was half okay but she wasn't surprised, he always was the one to try and hold them all together even when things were bad.

The group continued to chat but she wasn't paying attention. Her mind was swirling with thoughts of this curse, how she may very well end up like Anne and no one standing near her knew. As everyone started to make their way to their house tables, Lena slipped away. She made her way over to the Dark arts tower, which was pretty well empty. She could hear the heels of her shoes echoing through the walls as she walked across to the stairs, slowly but surely she made her way up to Professor Figs class which was sadly marked off for the year.

Lena pushed her way inside, everything was still the same. Untouched. She walks across the room, taking in the memories that flowed through her mind of her old friend. His old magic theory book still stacked on the desk at the front of his class, his quill sticking straight out of the ink container and papers scattered everywhere. She walked up the stairs and into his office, where she spent so much time learning and discovering things with Fig. She runs her fingers along his desk as she stands where she used to whenever she came to see him.
