"She should be here by now." Sebastian sighs nervously as he pressed his hands against the edge of the stone basin that stood in the undercroft, the shadows of the dimly lit room dancing across his face.
"She will be alright Sebastian, you worry far too much." Ominis says, running his fingers along the braille in his herbology book. He sat on the floor against one of the pillars with his long strong legs resting straight out before him, crossed at the ankles.
"You would be too if it had been Imelda that those dark wizards were looking for only a couple days ago." He snaps.
"Lena is a capable young lady, she can handle getting from Professor Sharps classroom to here in one piece I'm sure of it... and for the record Imelda and I are friends, nothing more." He says in a matter-of-fact tone, Sebastian rolls his eyes as he turns away from him.
"Well that's a load of thestral shit." He snickers.
"Says who?"
"Me and everyone else, it's obvious you're sleeping with her."
Ominis paused before closing his book and turning his head towards Sebastian's voice. "Excuse me Sebastian, you wouldn't know anything about that and you know why? Because If I were to be sleeping with anyone I wouldn't be doing it with unlocked doors early in the morning when everyone is trying to get ready for their day."
"So you are sleeping with her."
"Oh Sebastian, please tell me you at least saw my point."
"Fine, I get it, that was dumb... but to be fair I haven't been with her for awhile and... well, I missed her." He explains, taking a seat beside him.
"Yes... you two did have quite the fight." Ominis says, raising his eyebrows as he opens up his book again. Sebastian looked to him with slight hesitation.
"What exactly did she tell you?"
"Nothing, but I know it had to be bad for the two of you inseparable lovebirds to stop talking entirely." He says smoothly.
"Well, it was nothing we couldn't come back from." Sebastian grumbled, looking away as he rest his arms on his knees lazily.
"I hope for her sake that you aren't doing anything stupid, she has got enough to worry about." Ominis says, flipping his page over as he clears his throat. "I don't want to see you stressing her out."
"Ominis, I wouldn't do anything to hurt her."
"I worry about her is all."
"We are all worried about her."
"How exactly is she doing?" Ominis asks with a sigh.
"I don't know, found her drinking when I got back from the showers the other night... We talked but not a whole lot about the situation. She was a bit upset by it all, perhaps it's a bit too much all at once."
There was a long moment of silence between the two, both of them feeling a bit tense. They haven't spoken much, at least not about Lena and the curse. This was something that rest heavy on both their minds as it was in a way triggering, bringing them back not only to think of Anne but of all the horrible things that happened in their fifth year.
Sebastian knew Ominis cared about him as he was in fact his oldest friend but he could sense that didn't fully trust him still, which hurt Sebastian but he also understood it. He knew he was lucky to be able to walk free and be around him and Lena, he was grateful that he didn't lose that privilege.
"How long have you known?" Ominis asks, breaking the silence between them as he taps his finger restlessly on the back of his book.
"Not much longer than you."
