Later on that night in the Slytherin dormitory Lena sat on the couch by the fireplace as Sebastian slipped into the room, she glanced over as she heard the creak of the door and gave him a smile.
"Hey." She whispers.
"Hey you." He whispers back with a smile as he walked over and took a seat beside her.
He had just come back from the showers, Ominis had agreed to stay with Imelda so Sebastian could spend some time alone with Lena.
"What's this?" He asks, nodding to the glass that she held in her hand.
"Rum." She replied, flicking her eyes over to him lazily. "It's all Garreth had."
He eyed the bottle that sat on the floor by her feet before reaching out to pick it up only to realize it was nearly halfway gone. For a small girl like her, that was more than enough booze. It wasn't like her to drink, not by herself at least and he was only gone for a good half an hour so for her to have downed that much that quick was worrisome.
"What's bothering you?" He asks, tilting his head as he inched closer to her and placed a hand on the back of the couch behind her.
"What?" She asked, giving him a slightly defensive glare. He didn't want to upset her but he knew she wasn't alright and wanted to do what he could to comfort her.
"What's bothering you? You hate rum and you're drinking it straight."
"Nothing."
"Lena, you know I know that isn't true."
"I'm just worried." She says, glancing away from Sebastian and into the fire as she tapped the bottom of the glass restlessly with her nails.
"Would you like to talk about it?" He asked softly as he watched light from the fire dance across her freckled face. He could tell that she was exceptionally drunk, just by the way her eyes fluttered.
"No. I mean yes but no... I don't know." She shrugs.
"You don't have to if you don't want to... I just want do make sure you're alright." He assures her, tilting his head slightly as he waited for her to reply. After a few long moments she let out a sigh and turned her gaze back to him.
"What if something bad happens... I'm only getting weaker and I know he won't stop until he has what he wants..."
Sebastian was silent for a long moment, it upset him to hear her thinking of this. He never wanted to see her hurt or scared and the idea of this man potentially taking her, the only person he truly felt that had left, infuriated him.
"I won't let him take you..."
"Yeah? And what if he does?" She asks, swaying her head slightly as she took a sip of her drink.
"He won't, I'll make sure of it. I'm going to protect you..."
"I should have just left when I had the chance, if I did then none of this would be happening." She muttered, staring sightlessly into the fire once again.
"Left? What do you mean?"
Lena was silent for a long moment, running her thumb back and forth along her bottom lip before letting out a low displeased groan.
"I thought that perhaps if I left a note saying I decided to transfer schools then I could save you guys from the trouble I've now caused..."
"Wait a second, are you saying you were going to tell us you transferred so you could handle Ambrose all by yourself?"
"No... not entirely." She whispered, screwing her eyes shut. It took Sebastian a moment before the realization of what she was talking about hit him, with had him let out a long sigh.
