Last night, I went to sleep at one in the morning. I was on a call with Rudy as he tried to figure out what to wear on his date with Mini.
Gosh, he's such a simp. Who knew?
Aru and I have grown closer as friends, and we've hung out twice since we met so far. We say hi to each other during school, walk with each other to come home, and we text a bunch too. It's safe to say that she's a really good friend. I've learnt a few new things about her, like how she's pretty violent and scary, a lot more than I expected, or that her full real name is Arundhati Shah, that her mom is a literal nerd with Indian Mythology and history in general, and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm sooooo tired.
"Yeah, so that's basically all that happened." Brynne said, finishing her story. "Aiden, did you listen to at least a word that I said?"
I grinned. "Nope. Not one. How many more minutes till we get out again?"
"Another five," Brynne replied, rolling her eyes. "Why?"
"Because I'm going to crash on my bed when I get home," I responded. "Rudy kept me up all night yesterday and he wouldn't stop calling me. I'm not listening to what anyone says for the rest of the entire day."
She slapped me upside the head. "Well then at least listen to me, your best friend?! I'm in a mid-life crisis. I literally found out yesterday that Hira's flying over here to see her family. She wants to meet up for ice cream or something. What should I do?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, maybe actually show up, brush your teeth well, take gum with you, pay for dinner, wear clothes that aren't stained... Why are you asking me anyway? I have no experience."
"Well you should have experience," She grumbled. "It'd help me at least. Literally every girl who's seen you at this school has done a double take on you when you walk past them. I'm really surprised that you don't have at least a hundred angry exes running after your butt right as of now."
I chuckled. "Yeah no way in my entire life would I ever date anyone. I'm flowing solo."
Brynne raised her eyebrow and muttered something like, "we'll see about that," but I brushed it off. I whipped my phone out to text Aru to see if she was walking home with me today, or if she was going to be picked up like Brynne.
"Who are you texting?" Brynne asked, peering at my phone.
"Shah," I replied. "She said that she'd walk home with me today."
Brynne scrunched her eyebrows together. "You're going to walk home today? Do you have an umbrella?"
I tilted my head to the side. "Why would I need an umbrella?"
"It's raining, duh."
"I didn't know it was raining."
"Well now you do."
"I don't have an umbrella."
"Text Aru to see if she has one then!!" Brynne said, annoyed. "Sometimes I feel like you're really oblivious."
"Aru says that she has one." I retorted. "Happy?"
Brynne smirked at me. My smile immediately fell.
"What? You never smirk at me like that unless you're planning something, or you know something." I said, squinting my eyes.
