I Caught You Looking AU: Chapter Sixteen

Aiden:

"Nah, no problem, you deserve it. I promised it to you as a bet. Can't go back on that now, can I?" Aru replied, beaming at me, "Plus I did really have a good time with you. Thanks for that."

She wrapped her arms around my neck and pressed her warm body against mine to give me a bear hug. I immediately hugged her back, but when she began to let go, I felt the need to keep her with me. Again. My mind told me to let go but my arms refused. I couldn't. It was impossible. She leaned back to take a look at my face while our arms were still enveloping each other. I couldn't help but look at her dark eyes and get lost in them. My eyes slowly focused down onto her lips and I found her looking at mine too. I couldn't help it anymore.

I kissed her.

My eyes widened in shock as I felt her kiss me back, pulling me closer as if we weren't already close enough. We clung onto each other as if our lives depended on it, and after many seconds we let go. I looked at her, panting as she was doing the same. We both looked stunned at each other, blushing profusely.

"I-I didn't m-mean to d-do that I'm s-so sorry." I said, stuttering and backing up at the same time. "I'm g-going to head back h-home now. BYE!"

I ran back to my house the fastest I could and slammed the door close behind me.

"Aiden?" My mother called for me from the dining room, "Are you home?"

I smacked my cheeks hard to stop my face from burning up and covered my red-hot ears as I entered the dining room.

Why did I do that? Whywhywhywhywhywhywhywhywhy...

My mom waved a hand in front of my face and snapped a few times to catch my attention. I snapped back into reality after zoning out and into my thoughts.

"Ace-Cakes?" She called, "Earth to Ace-Cakessss!!! I made cookies for Krithika and Aru. Could you do me a favor and quickly go drop 'em off for me swee–"

"NO!" I yelled, then smacked a hand over my mouth rethinking my thoughts, "No!" I said, quickly, in a calmer voice, "Imaheaduptomyroomnowcosiamembarrasedsorrymomgoodbye!"

I dashed up the stairs with my mother calling after me and slammed my bedroom door as well. I plopped onto my bed and groaned, draggin my hands down my face. I got up immediately and shoved my clothes off of me and put some comfy clothes on instead to calm down. I came back into my room about five minutes later and looked out my window towards Aru's and saw her pacing her room and patting her cheeks constantly while on the phone with someone which I was guessing was Mini. I blushed again, feeling the heat creep up my neck as I saw her again, re-living the moment on her porch.

"I'm so stupiddduhhh..." I groaned, slamming my hands against my face, "Why did I do that?!"

My phone suddenly pinged, and I picked it up with no energy. It was a message from Brynne. I prepared for the worst as I figured that she would've figured it out by now. When it comes to drama and news, Brynne knows in at least ten minutes, tops.
