I Caught You Looking AU: Chapter Twelve

Aru:

It's too early in the morning for my body to 'exist' let alone physically move around. The only reason I'm walking to school today is because of the guy who lives in front of my house, the one and only, Aiden Acharya. I yawned, walking out of the front door of my house while simultaneously waving goodbye to the woman who brought me into this ever-loving world. I checked my watch and saw that today I wasn't late to start, I was actually earlier than usual.

The sooner we get to school, the sooner I get to doze on Mrs. Martinez's sofa!

I knocked on his door and after a few seconds of hearing muffled voices, rushed footsteps around the house, and a few bangs inside, (probably someone slipping and falling,) the door swung open to reveal a disheveled, but still good looking as always, Aiden.

"Shah?" He asked, rubbing his eyes.

I grinned. "'Tis I! Are you ready to go?"

"Yeah, just gimme a sec to go grab my bag and a few cereal bars." He replied, walking back inside.

After a momentary minute passed by he came back outside as his mom followed him towards the door.

"Bye Ace-Cakes! I love you!" She smiled at him and ruffled his hair, then looked at me. "Bye, Aru, take care of Aiden for me. See you both soon!"

I said goodbye to Aiden's mom and watched as she closed the door behind us as we walked down the street. I raised an eyebrow and Aiden and he sighed, pushing his ruffled hair back, knowing what question I was about to ask.

"Ace-Cakes?" I repeated, smiling smugly, "Really, dude?"

"Don't, just don't." He replied simply.

I giggled, and decided to change the topic in Aiden's favor because I'm just nice like that. We started talking about his camera, then I brought up why he looked so tired today, and he told me about how Brynne started spam calling his last night about how her 'friend,' Hira, asked her out on a date.

"I need to meet this Hira now." I said, stroking my imaginary beard.

"Me too." He said, stretching his arms towards the sky, "Did you get some sleep last night, Shah?"

"Eh, same story as yours. One of my friends and her twin also kept calling me last night, so I decided why not just pick up the phone. We ended up talking till like two in the morning and then I woke up earlier than usual, so when I get to school I'm sleeping on Mrs. Martinez's couch."

"No way," He said, crossing his arms, "I already called dibs on it yesterday."

"No you did not," I replied, squinting my eyes at him.

We both had our first period together in school, along with a few other classes as well, but our first period was the period of relaxing. Our teacher was very calm and took, 'giving her students enough rest,' seriously, so she brought a sofa into her classroom for those who needed it.

"I did indeed." He responded, bending down to smirk at me.

I backed away, blushing at how close he suddenly was, and nudged him, "Snob."

"Troll."

We walked in silence inside the school, saying hi to the Security Guard that we befriended, and then greeting the principal who always stood in the hallways in the morning. We also talked about how Brynne and Mini were dead meat from yesterday.
