I Caught You Looking AU: Chapter Seven

Aru:

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?! SHOULD I WEAR MAKEUP, DO MY HAIR, WEAR NICE CLOTHES?!?!?! Oh wait, no. That'd just make me seem like I like him and that I'm trying to please him... I can't do that. Nevermind. Scratch dressing nicely, leggings and a sweater it is, with a braid on the side, and maybe some blush and lip tint... Don't overdo it.

I rushed to my bathroom to take a shower, and after thirty minutes, I came out, as fresh as a newborn baby. I stole my mom's hair dryer and dried my hair, while picking my clothes out. I picked a dark green sweater out that went to my knees, and then black leggings. I quickly braided my hair, and tied it with a black hair tie, and added some lip tint and rouge to my cheeks.

I need to cut my hair again, it's getting too long and thick.

I heard my phone go off, and looked at it. It was Aiden, and he was wondering if I was done yet. I quickly replied yes, grabbed a protein bar off the counter, grabbed my shoes and my purse, kissed my mom goodbye and then swung open the front door.

"Wait," My mom said, "Beti, where are you going this time?"

"OH!" I replied, remembering that I hadn't told my mom about how I was meeting with Aiden at his house. "Yeah I'll be home by four, I'm just going to be at Aiden's for a bit."

She hesitated. "...Okay, Aru... Love you and have fun."

I ran out the door and towards Aiden's house, then rang the doorbell. After a few seconds the door swung open to reveal a young-looking beautiful woman who was wearing a light baby pink salwar kameez and a white dupatta hanging off her shoulder.

Now I know where Aiden gets his looks from.

"Hi!" She said, "Can I help you?"

"OH!" I said, extending my hand to greet her. "I'm Aru, your neighbor. Aiden said that I could come over to hang out?"

She grinned, as a sudden twinkle appeared in her eyes. "You're Aru?! Gosh, he's been talking a lot about you recently. I've heard so much about you!!"

She grabbed my hand and shook it vigorously. "Come, come!! Do you want something to eat?"

"Oh no!" I said, stepping inside the house, "I'm okay, thanks Mrs. Acharya."

"Of course! Call me Malini. Let me know if you need anything. Aiden's upstairs in his room, you can show yourself there if you'd like!"

I thanked her and walked up the stairs of their house and towards a slightly open door. There was low volume music playing in the room. I peeked inside and saw THE Aiden Acharya humming along to the lyrics of the duet song Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez and Em Beihold. The exact Aiden who once told me that he hates singing and would rather die than sing, was humming along and doing exactly the opposite of what he swore. To be honest, the dude's really good at it. REALLY REALLY REALLY good at it.

"You're a real hypocrite," I said, entering his room, "Y'know that, right?"

He immediately blushed then paused the music and looked at me in surprise. "Shah! When did you get here?"

"An hour back," I joked.

Suddenly his face was as red as a ripe strawberry. "You mean, you've been sitting outside my door listening to me for an hour now?!"
