8:11am

i sit up quickly, knowing i've been sleeping too long.

i look at the digital clock on my bedside and gasp.

"fuck! fuck! dominic! wake up right now!" i yell, jumping out of bed. he groans in response. "no, seriously. we're probably going to die today."

he turns over and looks at me running around trying to find my training clothes. his hairs grown out a bit, small ringlets decorating the top of his head.

he looks really cute half awake.

he mumbles something.

"what? and get up! we're late for training!"

"i said, "i don't care". i think it's about time we stop hiding from your mom," he tells me.

i finish finding my clothes.

"are you dumb? get. up." i demand.

"she was bound to find out."

"my head. she will have it. mounted to a wall- or worse, preserved, in a jar," i tell him, shuddering at the horrendous thought.

"we just sped up the inevitable."

"we can say we overslept," i suggest.

"genius idea," he sarcastically says, chuckling.

"actually, do stay here. that way, us oversleeping seems somewhat believable!"

"i'm not doing that. borkov already suspects something is up between us, and i'm sure ann has already pieced it together."

"i can't do this today dominic," i sigh.

"i can and will hold you in place until i get ready," he smiles.

"you won't," i say, stripping.

"you really want to challenge me?"

"fine, i will wait for you, now come on! our heads on sticks if we're even more late!"

he gets out of bed and searches for his clothes, as i finish getting ready.

i wait for him by the door, throwing my hair into a ponytail.

he meets me and kisses my lips.

"i'm ready. we can go now," he smiles.

i smile back, grabbing his hand and walk to the elevator.

"we are so screwed," i tell him, as the doors close.

"let's just hear her out. no talking. no explanation."

"it's ann," i point out. "explanation given at all times. she needs every detail. i used to have time to be able to come up with my details. i'm barely awake!"

"you're right though. we didn't do anything last night. just slept in the same bed."

"we can't do anything anyway," i mumble, "but yeah. she'll love that detail. we were no where near each other last night okay? we just can't be. you can go in first and i'll go in after. she can not know about us dominic. she can't," i stress.

"okay. calm down. i won't say a word," he says, shaking his head.

"thank you. i am not joking about head on a stick. she's sadistic. more than me."

"us a secret longer? fine," he nods.

we get to training level and step off the elevator.

"i'll go first; distract a bit; take most of the heat," he nods.
