v, alex, and i trek it to v and i's dreamwalk spot; the abandoned barn.

i often wish to see animals. i know they weren't affected by the virus, but they seem to be scarce. barely a bark or moo or baa.

it's weird.

"this is still a bad idea," v says for the thousandth time.

"that's why you're going to be monitoring us, and making sure everything is okay," alex tells her, patting her shoulder.

"ray, you don't have to do this," v tells me.

"but we need to. so our family can be complete. i'm tired of running. i don't think this a trap," i tell her.

"screw the trap. your life. i don't want you to go to far."

"i'll be okay v."

i'll be okay.

i chuckle to myself.

everything will come together. everything will be right with itself.

🌹 | v, you're going to fall in love with apollonia fike. she is funny and sassy and really, really strong. she will blow your entire mind away. and dominic, if he is ever to return to who he was when i met him; he's goofy, sweet, and really deserving of a better ending then where's he at. so please, let me do this. so i can have them back. so you can meet them.

🌹 | i know, but you won't have to worry. i'm not going to kill myself. i promise.

🎱 | promises break because life is unpredictable. i've told you this. it's why i don't like promises.

🌹 | i used to think that, but i promised a seven year old that i'd protect her with everything that i have in me, and i intend on keeping that promise. a soraya promise will be different from everyone else's. it means that whatever i promise, i will make sure that i go through with that promise.

we finally get to the barn and settle in our circle that we made with hay. v and alex sit in front of me.

"whenever you're ready," alex says, nodding.

i take a deep breath.

"update us. please. stay attached to your reality," v tells me.

"i will not fail," i nod.

tonight's the night.

"i love you. so please don't die," she whispers to me.

"i love you too ray. i will pull you out myself the second trouble comes," alex nods.

"i love you both. we'll finally have some type of normalcy."

"or more problems. either way, i think you're stuck with us," alex teases.

i smile.

"good."

i take in another deep breath, and close my eyes.

here i come apple and dominic.
