2:13pm

i open my eyes.

"i can't find her," i tell ann.

"okay. let's stop for now. hold your arm out," she tells me.

"why?"

"your left arm apollonia. please."

i hold out my arm to her and she rubs the inside of my elbow with something wet and cold.

i know what this is.

"why do you need my blood?!" i question, pulling my arm away.

"can i not have questions? i don't need questions right now," she sighs.

"why do you need my blood?" i ask again.

"hold your arm out apollonia," she firmly tells me.

we stare at each other.

maybe i can take her out like raya.

she squints her eyes at me.

i don't think that i'm afraid of her anymore.

she made a point.

superhumans or humans; superhumans.

but maybe i should leave the taking out to raya.

i hold out my arm and she wipes the inside of my elbow again.

i close my eyes and wait, terrified of the needle.

a stinging hits my arm and i whimper.

the pain stays a little until finally i feel the needle come out.

"i'm done," ann says.

i open my eyes and she places a cotton ball and bandaid on my wound.

"ouch," i tell her, squinting my eyes at her, frowning.

"you'll live. eat your lunch. we'll have another session before bedtime," she tells me and walks out with my blood.

what does she want with my blood?

i sit down and eat.

i'm going to need to nap. i feel a little light.

i finish eating and go and lay down. i close my eyes and fall asleep.
