12:12pm

"alright! good afternoon dominic," i smile, entering his room.

he sits up in his bed at my presence.

"good afternoon," he says, eyeing borkov next to me.

"i'll officially introduce myself. i'm head of this operation; ann malecot. this is borkov; my right hand," i tell him.

"hi."

"you're probably really confused, don't worry. we'll explain everything. first we're going to do a checkup."

borkov and i walk toward dominic, he looking between the two of us.

"i'm just going to take your temp and blood pressure," borkov announces to him and pulls out a thermometer and blood pressure machine. "mouth open, tongue up," borkov says. dominic obeys, and we wait for his temperature. "ninety-four point six," borkov states after the thermometer beeps ready. "arm." dominic produces his arm, and borkov wraps it. after a while, "bp's good."

"good. so, what i'm going to explain now is probably going to sound crazy at first, but... we're here. it happened," i tell him. "about three months ago almost, a virus plagued the entire world. it moved through people swiftly, taking out nearly everyone. only a small handful of people are still alive, and i'm sure most of them have superpowers."

dominic frowns.

"superpowers?" he repeats.

"you'd be surprised. the person who caused the virus teamed up with your brother to commit this crime. her name is soraya peters. your brothers name is alexander fike. and you have a sister; apollonia fike, whom we saved from soraya and have here with us. this next part might be tough to handle but, you, as well, were a part of destroying the world," i tell him.

his eyes widen in fear, and his head involuntarily shakes no in disbelief slightly.

"trust us dominic," borkov says.

"don't worry though. we've worked with you to turn you into a decent human being again. you injured your head, went to sleep, and never woke up, until now."

"i made a virus that killed everyone?" he asks. i nod. "i-i'm so sorry!" he apologizes.

"it's okay dominic," borkov soothes.

"we can start our training again. we will build you up," i tell him.

"yes. yes. i'll train," he nods. "when do we start?!"

"borkov and i will go and get the room ready for you. we'll let everything seep in, come back and get you in thirty," i tell him and we take our leave.

borkov closes dominic's door and jogs to catch up with me.

"you didn't tell him about his superpowers?" borkov asks me.

"i want it to be a surprise. he just accepts. this is the one. we have soraya now. i should've fried his brains months ago with the sass he gave me," i grumble. "a week at painting soraya and alex as a bad guy, then we win."

"he'll turn on his brother?"

"he's aloof borkov. he doesn't even remember he has one. he's mine. my own superhuman to play with."
