4:52pm

june and seph join us with their own joint at the end of ours.

"what did we miss?" seph asks, as the two take a seat in between alex and gray.

"you guys still trust me right?" ray asks them.

"of course! why?" june asks, as seph sparks their jay.

"gray and alex think i've given up and i haven't," she says.

"we didn't say that," alex says.

"i just want to move smarter this time. ann wants us under her control no matter what. i'm not allowing her to get her wish," ray says.

"we're with you ray," seph tells her. "we trust you."

"good, because gray is right, we've gotten better. we're almost to our next phase."

i look around sensing that someone might be watching me.

i connect eyes with veda.

i smile at her, but she doesn't react.

she doesn't even know me and doesn't trust me.

it's like soraya 2.0. she just listens to ray and does what she does. it's annoying.

"but i need everyone to trust me. everyone," ray enforces, looking at all of us.

"i trust you ray," i tell her, even though whatever i say doesn't matter.

"we trust you," seph says.

"ann won't know what hit her," ray smirks.

the superpowers that i've seen total up to 18 so far give or take.

energy manipulation.
force field.
telekinesis.
energy blast.
fireball blast.
invisibility.
telepathy.
superhearing.
superspeed.
teleportation.
plant revival.
persuasion.
mimicry.
astral projection.
earth manipulation.
sonic scream.
premonitions.
offspring detection.

and counting.

it's been nearly an isolated two months.

no one trusts me. even alex. i can tell. i saw the switch.

him and grayson do more together than him and i.

i did nothing wrong and they don't trust me. i didn't know anna was ann's daughter. i didn't know they watched us.

nothing is my fault.

the shit that happened, happened. and we should move on and come together. instead, they want to do things the hard way; dwell on the past and waste time.

i wouldn't say it out loud, but ray said it best. the powers come out best when they're put into survival mode. fighting each other isn't survival, it's a game essentially.

we know we wouldn't do anything to hurt one another, so we hold back.

she's pushed back our rescue mission on trust and strategy. i think she's pushed it back to get to know veda more.

she's completely blindsided by her.

we all see it.

"i'm gonna go take a shower," i say, standing. "you mind i have a personal?" i ask alex.

"yeah, go ahead," he nods.

i dap him up and salute two fingers to everyone else.

i can't be around these people.
