"And you're good to go." Dr. Morrison gave me the go-ahead to go back home. I would be a liar if I said the stitched-up gunshot wound didn't hurt with each movement. Soap brought me a change of clean clothes and I forced Soap, Gaz, and Ghost to get out of the room so I could change.

Once I finished, I swung the door open and stepped out. "Are you okay to walk?" Soap asked, stepping a little closer. "I got shot, I didn't get my leg chopped off," I said half-jokingly.

We walked past Dr. Morrison who gave me a small smile. "I hope you guys don't have to come back on the account of injuries." She said, her smile wide, showing a row of white teeth. "Don't miss me too much Doc." I flashed her a smile as we walked out to the car. Ghost went to walk toward the driver's side but I immediately stopped him. "Ghost, I don't know where you got your license but you're an awful driver," I told him, pointing out the countless times he almost rammed into things while behind the wheel. "He got his license behind an abandoned Kmart," Gaz remarked.

We piled into the car, but only this time Soap got behind the wheel. The short drive was quiet and a sense of warmth flooded over me once the small home came to view.

"Any new information?" I asked Gaz, who was seated next to me. Gaz shook his head in response and I felt a little bummed. "Gelina didn't give us the location of the two other missiles," Gaz told me.

"That's because we weren't the ones she wanted to speak to." Soap spoke up as he parked the car. "But Price insists that you get your rest."

I rolled my eyes at Price's fatherly behavior. "The second shipment could come any day and we need to be there for that," I said. "Right now you just need to focus on getting better," Gaz told me. Ghost opened the car door for me as I slid out, my feet landing firmly on the ground. "I'm already better." I protested.

We entered the home, Soap shutting the door behind him since he was the last to enter. "Why don't we watch some movies?" Soap suggested. We agreed but I wanted to hop in the shower before anything else.

The shirt that I was wearing was baggy on me since it wasn't one of my shirts. I palmed a clean pair of clothing and headed to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me. As I cut the shower onto the hottest setting, I turned to look in the mirror. My tangled hair was pulled back into a tight bun and a new scar was now on my lower abdomen.

I looked at the scars, hating what I saw. But, you gotta learn to live with it. I stepped into the shower, sighing as the hot water hit my sore muscles. The smell of shampoo filled my nose, creating a comfortable coconut aroma.

Once I finished taking my shower, I wrapped my wet hair in a towel to dry it off. I stared down at my hairbrush, knowing that I was going to have to brush out the tangles.

I began brushing out the ends, making my way up. Once I brushed out each tangle, I pulled my hair up.

I headed out of the bathroom, putting my dirty clothes away along with the others. Soap, Gaz, and Ghost were sitting in the rec room, arguing about what movie to put on. Well, Soap and Gaz were mainly arguing while Ghost looked like he was going to explode because of their little argument. "Okay, Knives!" Gaz grabbed my attention as I sat down beside Ghost. "What's a better movie? I want to watch The Hangover, but Soap wants to watch Almost Famous." Gaz told me.

"What the hell is Almost Famous?" I questioned, turning my head towards Soap. His jaw dropped as he jokingly made an offended impression. "Only the best movie of all time!" He put his hand over his heart. "What's it about?" Curiosity loomed over me as I leaned back in my chair. Ghost let out a silent and breathy, "fucking hell," as we continued figuring out what movie to pick.

"It's a film that tells the story of an ambitious young music journalist who gets the opportunity of a lifetime when he gets assigned to write an article on the hottest band in the world!" Soap excitedly explained.

"Well then, let's watch it." I quickly chose an option so Ghost wouldn't get even more irritated than he already was.

Ghost and I soon realized that Soap and Gaz were terrible people to watch movies with. Halfway through the movie, the both of them fell asleep. "All that debating and for what?" you could clearly hear the annoyance in Ghost's voice.

"Oh lighten up, you still got me." I grinned. "And that's a good thing?"

I shoved Ghost over as I sat more comfortably in my seat. "Admit you love me and your life can go smoother," I told him. "I love it when you're gone."

I rolled my eyes, as a playful smile formed on my face. "Let's try something." I turned in my seat to face him. Ghost looked down at me, the TV screen lighting up his brown eyes, making it easier to look in. "You say one nice thing about me and I'll say one nice thing about you."

Ghost looked down at me as if I were crazy. "Nice isn't in your vocabulary." I rolled my eyes at his little comment. "You go first," I told him. Ghost let out a sigh as he began thinking of what to say. "Oh come on! Am I that bad?" I laughed. "Some might say that you're a good soldier." He huffed. A smile formed on my face. "Why thank you."

"And some might say when you're not being a dick, you're a good man." I told him, becoming a bit more serious. "You think I'm a good man? Who's the teddy bear now?"

"Does this make us best friends?" I asked, jokingly. "In your wildest dreams."

I let out a small yawn as my body began to give into exhaustion. "You going to sleep?" Ghost asked me. I shook my head and turned my attention back to the TV. "I'm going to finish this movie." I told him.

~Ghost's pov~

She lied. Knives ended up falling asleep during the movie along with the others. As usual, I  was the last one to fall asleep. I was watching the movie intently, soaking in every detail and enjoying the rare downtime. But as the night wore on, I could feel the weight of fatigue settling in. I let out a yawn and leaned my head back, ready to give in to sleep when something pressed against his shoulder.

I turned to see Knives, head resting on my shoulder, fast asleep. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of surprise. I wasn't the touchy-feely type, but I couldn't deny the sense of comfort and companionship that washed over me just having her there. I gently adjusted my position so as to not disturb her, and turned my gaze back to the screen.

A part of me was surprised that I didn't quickly move away. A part of me was surprised by the sense of comfort I felt. Soft snores filled the room along with the hushed tones that played throughout the movie.

My eyelids began to get heavy and I didn't fight the exhaustion that slowly overcame me. Soon enough, I fell asleep along with the others.

This chapter was a bit short but the next chapter will be a lot longer. It might be a little cheesy but who cares? It's romance. Romance in general is cheesy. Make sure to vote and leave a comment if you're comfortable! Have an amazing day or night beauties<333
