PEACE

"The restlessness of your inner child
All the lessons you've gathered and filed
Accumulate and gruesomely inside your heart
But it can give you a beautiful new start
One where anger and greed are released
So you can find some solacing peace
This own personal calm and contentment
Will be the answers to humanity's restlessness
For it isn't until we have resolve in our own souls
That we will be able to fully break society's violent role
Please dedicate time to heal inside
So that earthly peace can finally rise."

It seemed too good to be true. The sun seemed too perfect on my skin. The comforting warmth placed gentle kisses against my flesh. Ever since my visit less than a month ago- it felt as if a huge weight had been lifted. I had gotten my mom a job in the medical center and she strived as a nurse. I didn't bother going back into contact with Sean. I left him where he was at and I knew sooner or later, he would become even more miserable than he already was.

"What are you doing out here?" Ghost's calm voice made me relax further. I sat in a grassy field, taking in my surroundings. I was pretty far and sat in a pretty secluded area. "Just chilling," I told him. He sat down beside me, taking off his mask.

"Don't you ever get hot with that on?" I shifted my gaze to him, taking in his facial features. I was no stranger to seeing his face. And although I had seen Simon's face a thousand times, I still loved taking every detail in. Every scar, every freckle, and every stubble. "Eh, I got used to it." He shrugged his shoulders as he moved closer to me.

I lay down on my back and placed my head comfortably in his lap. He gently caressed my cheek with the pad of his thumb, leaving a trail of goosebumps with the movement of his soft trace. "I have a small operation for us," He informed me. I closed my eyes, finding comfort in his touch and the warmth of the sun that shone down on us. I let out a small hum, signaling him to continue.

"It's a small, locate and eliminate kind of mission." He explained shortly. My eyes fluttered open as my e/c eyes flitted to meet his. "Is it just going to be you and I?" I asked. Simon nodded his head. He pressed his lips together, forming a small dimple on his cheek.

I sat forward to face him, my face only inches away from his. His large hand met my cheek, cupping my it gently. My stomach twisted in knots and I grew eager to kiss him. I didn't wait a second longer before closing the small gap between us. A jolt of electricity coursed through my body once our lips connected. Moments like these- with him- were the moments I loved most.

I pulled away slowly, my eyes looking into his. "Come on then, let's get ready." I hopped up from the grassy field and dusted myself off. I grabbed his arm in an attempt to lift him. Simon kept his weight on the ground, purposely making it hard for me to pull him. "Quit being an ass!" I groaned in annoyance. Simon let out a small chuckle and got up on his own after I refused to help him.

I got ready quickly and found my mom at the medical center. She wore the same attire as the other nurses and I found her pretty quickly. "Hey," I grabbed her attention. A month here changed her a lot more. Her cheeks weren't sunken and her eyes weren't dull. She had a straighter posture and she seemed happy. She was more vibrant and she even cut her hair and dyed it a light brown. She seemed a lot happier than before. "I'm about to head out, I'll see you later," I told her. She gave me a small smile and a head nod. "Be safe," She spoke in a motherly tone. I gave her a small head nod and left the center.

Ghost was leaning against the Jeep, waiting for me. "Missed me, sweetheart?" I asked with a grin on my face. Sarcasm laced my tone as I walked toward the passenger side. "Very much," He said sarcastically.
