Go ahead and thank me. I made this chapter just for you guys and it's not a crumb bitch its a BITE. Enjoy😉

I woke up in the comfort of my bed. I had woken before my alarm clock went off, quickly palming the "off" button. Thoughts of last night swirled through my mind as I thought about what happened between Ghost and me in the kitchen. The way his fingertips traced my skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps. The way he looked at me through his mask... his eyes had a glare to them...  almost as if lust filled his dark brown eyes.

I didn't know what came over him last night, but I couldn't help but want... more. I wanted his fingertips to trace every part of my body. I wanted to feel his lips against mine and kiss me roughly. I wanted him.

I threw the blanket off of me and stood up. The wooden floorboards felt cold against my feet, sending a shiver up my spine.

I wondered how Ghost would act around me this time. How he came so close to kissing me. Would he be embarrassed? Would he treat me like a stranger? The bathroom fan filled my ears, the slight hum making me feel slightly more awake. The feeling of the hot water hitting my skin energized me completely.

Once I finished with my shower, I stepped onto the tiled floor, wrapping a towel around my body. I stood in front of the mirror, wiping the steam from the mirror. Small wet streaks left a trail against my palm, giving me a clear vision of my face, rather than the imprecise parts that stood out in the foggy mirror.

I took a good look at myself, looking into my tired eyes. I splashed cold water against my face, to hopefully give me more of a refreshed look. "It's not like the Marines have great skincare products," I grumbled to myself as I brushed my hair out, gelling it back into a bun.

I quickly changed into a fresh uniform, looking at myself. I let out a sigh and exited the bathroom, bumping into no one other than Ghost. "Morning Ghost," I spoke somewhat silently. "Mornin'." His morning voice was husky and raspy, making my stomach churn. He walked into the bathroom as if last night did not affect him whatsoever.

Everyone quickly got ready and geared up as we climbed into the car. Price decided that we would take a car instead of a chopper this time to have a much more silent approach.

I sat in the back between Gaz and Soap since Ghost wanted the passenger seat. I couldn't help but shift my gaze towards Ghost every now and then, who sat silently in the front seat. Gaz, Soap, and Price engaged in conversation, sharing a few small jokes.

I sat silently, biting the inside of my cheek. I never realized just how much I did this. "Hey, Knives." Gaz nudged me with his elbow. I turned my head to face him, my eyes catching his brown ones. "Are you alright? You're never this quiet." He asked. Soap and Price continued with their conversations, Soap making annoying remarks towards Ghost.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just can't wait for this long ass ride to be over." I told him, a small chuckle following behind to lighten my mood slightly.

Gaz stared at me, tilting his head slightly. Finally, the car came to a stop and the crucial, long drive was over. We parked in a hidden area through the beeline of trees. I grabbed the pair of binoculars, scanning the area. There were two soldiers at the front entrance of the warehouse, guns in their hands. "Two soldiers at the entrance. I can't see much of anything inside." I informed them.

"I got it." Ghost peered through his sniper, at the barrel was a suppressor. He pulled the trigger twice. I watched as the soldiers' bodies collided with the ground instantly.

"Move in silently. Ghost and Knives, you take the backside. Soap and Gaz you take the front side. I'll keep watch and cover if anything happens." Price gave us our orders. I could feel my heart drop at the thought of Ghost and I being alone. But I was thankful, knowing that many words wouldn't be exchanged through either of us. But is that really what I wanted?
