Chapter 19

Three days later.

Ali's POV

"Okay, so.." Inikot ko ang computer chair na inuupuan ko para harapin si Regina na nakatambay sa couch.

".. even if you can't control your abilities during new moon, the plants, in your case, it doesn't mean na hindi sayo yun."

Regina came to me looking for answers, so I spent my three days researching about it. Checked the destiny books that I have here but, apparently, I don't have that much. The full collection is in the island. So, I did a little time travel adventure to seek answers from the elders somewhere in the timeline.

"..meaning?" she asked

"Meaning, subconsciously, your priority is to protect Narda, not hurt her. Those plants are doing something that you want them to do at heart. It is still you."

"But I did hurt her." She said.

"True, but you are overwhelmed with panic and fear, at sabi mo nga, hindi mo alam na si Narda yun at first. You protected yourself, it's a normal instinct."

"What's the possibility that I will hurt her again?" She asked worriedly.

"I don't know, like zero?"

She looked at me unconvinced. Pinagulong ko ang computer chair papalapit sa kanya.

"I mean, she is your comfort zone at new moon. What happened the other day is a one-off. And to avoid that.."

Regina is waiting for what I'm about to say. Hinawakan ko ang baba niya at pinitik ng isang kamay ko ang noo na, "Don't ever forget that it's new moon again!" Sabi ko nang may kahalong gigil.

"Aray! Ali! Sorry na nga e."

"Sorry daw."

"Promise, hindi na talaga mauulit." She is pouting with puppy dog eyes.

"Hindi mo ako madadaan sa ganyan, hindi ako si Narda."

"Sungit! testing lang e. Sorry na nga." And she's back to normal.

"Anywayyyyy.... Ano nang nangyari dyan sa plano mo? I'm gonna tell her, tell her ka pa. Tatlong araw na oh. Ano pang hinihintay mo?"

"Tss." Humiga siya sa couch at tinakip niya sa mukha niya yung nahagip niyang throwpillow.

I crossed my arms and said, "Still waiting for the answer."

Unti unti niyang tinanggal ang pagkakatakip ng mukha niya.

"Uhmm, I'm gonna tell her today. I just think that it's a make or break and I'm trying to prepare myself for the 'break' part. But maybe, whatever I do, nothing will prepare me for that."

I looked at her confused, "Why would you think that?"

"Because we're in different worlds, we're different beings. I will not ask her to be with me like some responsibility a soulmate has to do. I just want to tell her because she needs to know, and I don't want the guilt feeling creeping on me anymore. I want to be honest and true. That's what she deserves."

"What if it turns out well? What if Narda loves you? You're her soulmate after all."

She chuckled. "But is she in love with me though? She is human, some of the Vanguardia's law of nature and soulmatism doesn't apply to us. We don't fall at first sight."
