I looked down, seeing my wife fast asleep beside me. We had turned on a movie in the living room.

I sighed and turned off the movie before picking Camille up bridal style.

She groaned softly and set her head on my shoulder. I smiled.

"I've got you." I whispered.

She nodded and relaxed. I brought her into the bedroom before getting her comfy and tucking her in.

She gave me a tired smile. I kissed her lips before getting into bed.

A few minutes later and she was fast asleep again. As long as she was okay.

I carefully pulled her limp body in before kissing her head and falling asleep with her.

I woke up to the sound of whimpering. I looked around to see that it was still dark. I turned from my wife's warmth to see max crying next to the bed.

"What's wrong?" I asked. He cried harder.

"I had a bad dream." He cried.

"Okay. Shhh mamas sleeping." I whispered as I picked him up. He sniffled and rested on my chest. I rubbed his back as he calmed down.

Max sobbed into my shoulder, so I sat up. Camille carefully woke up, rubbing her eyes.

"Sorry." I whispered. She shook her head tiredly.

"What's wrong max?" She asked. She set her head on my shoulder and tried to stay awake.

"Bad dream." He said. She rubbed his back.

"It's just a dream. It's not real babe. Dad and I are here."

He nodded and sniffed. I smiled at Cammie.

"Thank you." He said and sniffed. Camille said he looked just like me when he cried. We cried the same apparently.

But I don't cry often so who knows.

Max sat up on my chest. I smiled at him.

"You're good. You're a strong boy."

He nodded. I kissed his forehead.

"You want me to take you back to bed?"

He nodded. "Night light."

"Yeah I'll put the night light in." I said as I got in. Max waved his mom goodbye. I kissed his head as I laid him in bed.

"I love you." I whispered as I tucked him in and gave him his stuffies. I plugged his night light in and started his little diffuser with essential oils that helped with sleep.

"Night daddy." He whispered.

"Night buddy."

I walked back into the bedroom, seeing Camille asleep again. I smiled and started our own diffuser. Cammie got me hooked onto it.

I smiled and kissed her head softly. She smiled while closing her eyes. I got into bed and pulled her in.

She giggled. "Hi."

"Hey." I whispered. She kissed my neck before nuzzling in. I smiled to myself.

"You good?" I whispered. She nodded. She wrapped her leg over me and sighed. I rubbed her waist.

Moments like these made me realize why I married her. Why she's my best friend.

All emotions I had left. Even if I was just a little upset about something, she would take it away with one touch.
