I walked into the hospital rather quickly.

"I'm here to see Lloyd Hansen." I said.

"Relations with the patient?"

"Wife, and this is our son." I said.

She nodded. "Room 206. End of the hall and to the left." She said.

I thanked her before heading down. Max was tired.

I got to his room and saw suzanne and denny sitting outside, along with some of Lloyd's men. Denny stood up and took max.

"Hi uncle denny." Max said.

"Hey bud." Denny said as he nodded at me. I went inside.

Lloyd was hooked up to monitors and other bullshit. He was beat to a pulp and bandaged up everywhere.

I sat down and took his hand.

"Hi sweetheart. I know you probably can't hear mr right now but..."

I sighed. God this was stupid.

My husband could die overnight and I don't even know what to say.

I felt tears well up in my eyes. I set my head down on the bed.

My husband was going to die.

I started sobbing almost immediately. I couldn't even look at him.

"I just wish you- never went on this stupid mission. I cannot raise...that little boy on my own. You have to wake up you have to! Or I swear to god Lloyd I will kill you myself. You are not allowed to die."

His monitor was still beating, but it sped up a little. I felt his hand twitch. I looked up, still crying.

He carefully opened his eyes.

"nurse...nurse!!" I yelled. Lloyd groaned softly.

"I'm okay. I'm alright." He whispered. "I have a high pain tolerance and I know they pumped way to many pain meds in me."

"You're not in pain?" I asked. He groggily shook his head.

"No. Hi." He whispered. I started crying again. He held my hand.

I moved up to kiss his cheek, the good part of it.

He sighed. "I might need a few days here."

"That's fine. You're fine." I whispered. He smiled.

"Is max here?" He asked. I nodded.

"You wanna see him?"

He nodded. I got up and went outside, wiping my tears. Denny looked at me as I came over and took max.

"You cannot let him say goodbye like this." Denny whispered.

"He's awake dumbass. He wants to see his son." I said. Suzanne smiled.

I walked in and looked at max. "Okay. Daddy's hurt so you have to sit in my lap. But he wants to say hi."

He nodded. I sat him on my lap. He saw his dad and whimpered.

"Hi buddy. I know it probably looks bad. How bad is it Cammie?"

I pulled up my phone to take a picture. He gave the camera a little thumbs up. I smiled.

I showed him. He sighed.

"Damn. That's not cute." He said. I gave him a look.

Max held his hand. He smiled.

"You been good for mom?"

He nodded. He looked a little scared, and for that lloyd was a little hurt.
