During that weekend Chelsea and Bonnie learned a lot about themselves, witches and why Bonnie and Chelsea's powers seemed to be showing so differently.

Bonnie was an ancestral witch. Which meant that she derived her power through her ancestors, celestial events and covens. Bonnie would be able to cast spells and do rituals.

Chelsea was an elemental witch. Which meant that she could control 1 of the 4 elements, fire in Chelsea's case. Chelsea would derive her power through her emotions, nature and being anywhere near fire. Chelsea wouldn't be able to cast spells and do rituals, but she would be able to be channelled by other witches and give a power boost to them.

Grams taught Chelsea that despite not being able to do as spells like Bonnie can that doesn't mean that she won't be powerful. The things that she will be able to do with her powers will be great but first she must learn to control the fire and that means keeping her anger issues under control too.

When Chelsea asked why she was a different type of witch than Bonnie despite them being twins Grams explained that, that has always been this way. Whenever twins were born into the Bennett line one would be an ancestral witch and the other would be an elemental witch. Grams did admit however that the Bennett line very rarely had twins and when they did the elemental witch was almost always a water or wind elemental. There had only been 3 earth elementals and one fire elemental before her.

Chelsea wondered if it was her anger issues that made her a fire elemental or if the fire made her have a naturally fiery temperament. Or maybe they weren't related at all. Who knew, she most certainly didn't.

"Was our family burned in the witch trials?" Bonnie asks their Grams.

"No, the girls that were persecuted in Salem were entirely innocent. You have to have more than ignorance to trap a real witch." Grams answers

"How did we end up in Mystic Falls?" Chelsea asks.

"Our family fled Salem in 1692 and relocated here. Our ancestors lived in secrecy for over a hundred years. It's important that we still do." Grams informs.

"Grams, everybody knows you're a witch." Bonnie points out.

"They also know it's absurd, can't be true. I'm just a kooky lady that teaches occult at the university. No one really believes. They just poke fun. And let 'em. Don't let 'em know the truth." Grams explains.

"Where's the witchcraft? I mean, you've been talking history for 2 days. I wanna get to the fun part." Bonnie wines.

"I don't mind the history." Chelsea states.

"Suck up." Bonnie teases.

"It's not meant to be fun. It's real and it's serious, and you must understand it before you practice it. Especially you Chelsea. Fire has a life of its own and it's easy to get burned and while I'm fairly certain your fire will never harm you, you could end up accidently harming someone else. Now aren't you girls late for school?" Grams asks.

"I have got your costumes. It's all here." Caroline tells Bonnie and Chelsea as she hands them bags.

The girls are at school, standing about in the hallways as they wait for the slow day to finally pass by so the girls can get dressed up or the schools Halloween party.

"Seriously?" Bonnie asks annoyed and incredulous as she looks at the witch's costume she's holding in her hands.

Chelsea laughs at her sister as she looks down at her own costume.

"Come on. Can someone please be excited that it's Halloween? I just wanna have fun, you know, just some silly, fluffy, Damon free fun." Caroline bemoans.
