Chapter 20

Chelsea is walking with Bonnie and the new boy, Warlock, Luka. Bonnie and Luka are talking about how they were told about their powers. Bonnie keeps trying to get Chelsea to talk as well, but Chelsea doesn't feel comfortable around Luka, he's too easy going. It makes him feel fake to Chelsea.

"So, your Grams waited until you were in high school to tell you that you're a witch?" Luka asks baffled.

"Well, she brought it up before, but I just thought she was drunk. In my defence, she was." Bonnie and Luka laugh.

"SO, then, you're both like, new?" Luka asks.

"New-ish. I still have some growing pains." Bonnie admits causing Chelsea to frown. She didn't know that.

"Like?" Luka inquires.

"Physically, it's become a lot harder. I have a bad reaction to it sometimes." Bonnie informs.

"Your nose bleeds?" Luka asks.

"Yeah. And I pass out sometimes." Bonnie adds on.

"Hold on, why didn't I know about this." Chelsea questions her sister.

"I just didn't want to worry you and it never happens when I channel you." Bonnie explains.

"It wouldn't. channelling an elemental with is supposed to make a witch's spell more powerful as they are direct conduits of an element of nature." Luka informs. "Bonnie the reason that stuff happens to you is because you're trying to do too much stuff on your own. You need help."

"From what? Because I can't always use Chelsea." Bonnie asks.

"From nature. The elements. Just things that you can draw extra power from. Have you ever channelled another witch before?" Luka queries.

"We just said that she channels me." Chelsea points out.

"I don't mean an Elemental I mean just an ordinary witch." Luka states.

"No, I have not." Bonnie answers.

"It's different from channelling an elemental, or at least from what I've heard. I'll show you, watch. Let me see that bracelet." Luka says.

Bonnie hands over her bracelet as Luka gives Bonnie his dog tags from around his neck.

"Take this. Now, I want you to stand very still and concentrate." Luka orders.

"What are we doing? Why do you need my bracelet?" Bonnie asks confused as this isn't what she does when channelling Chelsea.

"We're channelling. The personal items will act as talismans. Now concentrate." Luka states.

"Wow." Bonnie says breathlessly as she shuts her eyes.

Chelsea sees Luka and Bonnie smile as they both have their eyes closed. Wind picks up around them, blowing leaves and papers from people's hands. Chelsea's hair is being thrown this way and that way and she is officially getting annoyed. Her hair is going to be tangled for weeks.

Bonnie and Luka open their eyes, smiling at each other as the wind dies down.

"Pretty cool, huh?" Luka asks.

Bonnie laughs gleefully.

"What's with the weather, huh?" Jeremy asks when he walks over to them.

"It's global warming, man. I don't know. I got to go. See you later, Bonnie...Chelsea." Luka says before he walks off.

"Bye Luka." Bonnie calls out.

"Bye Luka." Chelsea says snidely. She really doesn't trust that boy.

"The guy is weird, huh?" Jeremy asks.
