Chapter 24

"Yep. Everybody is dead." Damon declares as he walks through the door of the Martins apartment.

Chelsea, Bonnie, Jeremy and Damon are at the martin's apartment today because they need to find the grimoire with the spell that will allow Bonnie to absorb the magic of a hundred dead witches, so that she can kill Klaus.

"We should pack the grimoires. They spent years collecting them. I wanna make sure they're safe." Bonnie suggests.

"You know, Chelsea could just poof and cremate him." Damon points out as he looks at Luka's body. Chelsea allows flames to come to her hand before she hears her sisters next words.

"Don't be disrespectful. Not to him." Bonnie warns Damon.

Chelsea allows the flames extinguish.

"Fine. I'll bury him." Damon huffs.

"What exactly are we looking for?" Jeremy asks as he looks at the wall of books.

"According to Luka's dad, one of these contains a spell that'll let me harness the energy that's left behind when a witch dies violently." Bonnie informs.

"I didn't know you and father witch were so close." Damon says.

"We weren't but when he gave me my powers back, he gave me a message. If I can find the spot in town, where the old Salem witches were burned, I can harness their energy to use when I need it." Bonie explains.

"Great. We'll have to put that on our list of things to do today. Harness ancient dead-witch power." Damon mentions.

"You know where the witches were burned." Chelsea states confidently.

"Did I forget to mention that?" Damon taunts.

"Are we gonna have to read through every one of these books till we find the right spell?" Jeremy asks as he flicks through a book.

"Not exactly." Bonnie answers.

Bonnie turns towards the wall with all the grimoires on them, closes her eyes and raises her hands. Nothing happens for a second before suddenly all of the books fall and one of them opens up in front of her.

"It's this one." Bonnie declares.

"Great. Grab the rest. Let's go." Damon hurries them.

The group are walking through the forest towards the place that Damon says 100 witches died including Emily Bennett a few decades later.

"I can't believe were letting the traitor in on this." Damon grumps.

"Not a traitor." Chelsea snaps at the vampire.

"Your soulmates with two originals that are trying to kill Elena. What would you call yourself?" Damon asks sarcastically.

"Right now, I would call myself murderous and in the mood to set an annoying vampire alight." Chelsea answers causing Jeremy to laugh and Damon to roll his eyes.

"So, is this the spot Emily Bennett was killed, too?" Jeremy inquires.

"Founders thought it was poetic burning her where the other witches burned." Damon informs.

"How do you know where the witches were burned?" Bonnie queries.

"Cause I tried to save her. Emily was just my key to getting Katherine back before I knew what a nasty little bitch Katherine was." Damon explains.

Chelsea and Jeremy giggle at that before the group stops in front of a rundown looking house.

"You sure this is the right place?" Jeremy asks.
