Chapter 19

Early this morning Chelsea got a text from Stefan asking her to come to the Salvatore boarding house as they needed to talk to her. So, she told Bonnie where she was going before driving over.

She ended up arriving just after Elena, so they walked up to the house together.

"Any idea why they called us here?" Chelsea asks.

"None." Elena answers before she knocks on the door.

They don't have to wait long, as soon enough Damon opens the door.

"Hello, Elena...Chelsea." Damon greets.

"Is Stefan here? He called. He said it was important." Elena queries.

"Yeah, and he texted me, so what's up?" Chelsea inquires.

"Right this way." Damon gestures further into the house.

Elena and Chelsea walk in and spot Stefan.

"Hey." He greets them.

"What is this about?" Elena asks.

Chelsea watches taken aback as the short-haired vampire, Rose, that kidnapped them not even a day ago walks into the living room.

"The fuck is she doing here?" Chelsea exclaims, confused.

They end up all sitting in the living room as Rose explains to them exactly why she and Trevor kidnapped Elena and Chelsea.

"Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true." Rose informs. "It's the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus, I know he's real."

Chelsea feels her breath catch and her heart race when she hears Klaus' name.

What is it with her and original vampires? Why do they make her react like this.

"Who is he?" Elena asks.

"He's one of the originals, he's a legend." Damon states.

"From the first generation of vampires." Stefan explains further.

"Like Elijah?" Chelsea inquires.

"No. Elijah was the easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal." Rose warns.

"Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan adds on.

"Okay, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in history of time is coming after us?" Elena asks as she brings her hand to hold onto Chelsea's.

"Yes." "No." Rose and Stefan say at the same time, contradicting each other.

"What they're saying is, I mean if what she's saying is true..." Damon starts.

"Which it is." Rose interrupts.

"And you're not just saying it, so I don't kill you." Damon continues.

"Which I'm not." Rose retorts.

"Then we're looking at a solid maybe." Damon finishes.

"That is so helpful, thank you Damon." Chelsea says sarcastically.

"Look, Elijah's dead, right? So, no one else even knows that either of you exist." Stefan points out.

"Not that you know of." Rose states.

"That's not helping." Damon chastises.

"Look, I've never even met anyone who's laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't know if he's real. For all we know he could just be some sort of stupid bedtime story." Stefan huffs.
