Chelsea is at the Lockwood mansion, volunteering to make the place ready and decorated for the masquerade. She is helping Elena carry some boxes when her sister suddenly shows up.

"You're here." Elena greets when she sees Bonnie.

"I'm here." Bonnie agrees.

Elena and Chelsea start getting some candles out of the box and Bonnie keeps glancing around the yard.

"Caroline's not coming. I told you." Elena tells Bonnie.

"Just making sure." Bonnie says making Chelsea scoff.

"You know, eventually you're gonna have to talk to her." Elena points out.

"Could you make it a little less obvious you're on her side?" Bonnie asks.

"There are no sides, Bonnie." Elena states.

"Come on! Since Caroline became a vampire, we barely see each other. My own sister refuses to talk to me. Losing Caroline was bad enough; I didn't think I'd lose both of you too." Bonnie says, upset.

"You didn't lose Caroline, you abandoned her." Chelsea points out, she goes to say more but Elena places a hand on Chelsea's arm signalling her to stop.

"Come with me...both of you." Elena tells the twins.

"Where?" Bonnie asks at the same time that Chelsea asks, "Why?"

"Not here. Some place quiet. We have to talk." Elena says.

The girls walk over to the edge of the small lake on the Lockwood property and Elena tells Bonnie all about what has been going on. Chelsea didn't understand why she had to be there for it, she already knew most of it.

"I can't believe this." Bonnie states.

"It's a lot, I know. Katherine's doing everything that she can to drive me and Stefan apart and Caroline just got trapped in the middle." Elena says summing up what she has been talking about.

"It's not that you and Stefan are pretending to fight. It's that I didn't even know you guys were fighting at all." Bonnie exclaims.

"I'm sorry, I don't want to keep things from you, but you've made it pretty clear where you stand with the whole vampire thing." Elena explains.

"So that makes me the odd man out." Bonnie states.

"No...no, Bonnie..." Elena gets interrupted.

"Yes, you can't go about systematically condemning the people around you and then turn around and expect to still be treated better than the way you treat others. That's not how life works." Chelsea tells her sister who glares at her.

"I'm not condemning anyone. I just need Caroline to prove that she is the same Caroline that she has always been." Bonnie says.

"Let's ignore the fact that, that is fucking stupid how is she supposed to do that if you're constantly ignoring her and making sure you aren't in the same place that she is?" Chelsea questions.

"Guys! Stop! I didn't bring you both over here for you to argue." Elena suddenly exclaims.

"I didn't start it." Bonnie states causing Elena to turn and look at Chelsea.

"Screw this, I'm going to go and see if Caroline needs any help with her mom. Because actual friends stick together when they need something." Chelsea says before she gets up and walks away from the infuriating duo.

Chelsea took the car because fuck Bonnie, is she being petty? Probably, but at this point she doesn't care. She arrived at the Salvatore boarding house a little while ago and I now sitting with Caroline, teaching Liz about what being a vampire actually is.
