it's okay if you don't feel alright.

here are some things you can do if your emotions feel strong.

1. place ice on your hands or forearms 

2. use squishes, Puddy, play-dough, stress balls, etc. 

3. take deep breaths. use techniques like 'box breathing' and 'starfish breathing.'

4. don't judge yourself. try narrating your experience. ex: "I feel upset because of __."

5. if you have an urge, write down the positives and negatives of acting on that urge

6. if you are angry, to wear off the emotions, do intense exercise (don't overdo it)

7. to avoid constantly feeling irritable, make sure you eat balanced and sleep well

8. avoid mood altering drugs/alcohol

9. remind yourself that your feelings are important

10. stop yourself from doing anything and think about what's happening

11. use mindfulness

12. use something that comforts one or more of your five senses

13. take yourself away from a stressful situation if possible or in one

14. splash cold water on your face

15. take a hot/warm/cold shower

16. talk to someone

17. describe your emotions in your head to better understand the moment

18. accept reality

19. list the sensations you are feeling in your head

20. enter the experience
