Chapter 21 - Liyue

3rd POV

*Zapolyarny Palace*

A loud explosion echoed through the big halls of the palace, followed by a frustrated scream.

"This filthy pest!" A fair-haired woman seethed, angrily kicking a piece of rubble, that once was part of a wall, "Just wait! The next time we meet, I'll wipe that ugly grin off your face! And then you'll be begging me to spare that worthless life of yours!"

Her eyes landed on her subordinates, who had returned with her; including the Pyro Agent who had failed to restrain that so-called pest. Despite the clear pain he was in, thanks to his seemingly broken nose, he managed to keep a straight face.

Trying to calm down, La Signora crossed her arms, "Get out of my sight, you useless pack!"

Not hesitating another second, the group scurried away, dragging the poor guy with them.
They passed by two males walking down the hallway. By the look of it, they didn't seem to be quite on the same page; telling by the irritated expression of the shorter one.

"Those guys don't seem to be doing so well. I wonder what happened." The ginger-haired male chuckled, his eyes following the group, that seemed to run away in fear.

"Get lost already." The indigo-haired hissed, seemingly annoyed by the young man following him.
Yet, his cold attitude was met with a carefree smile from Childe, "But I'm curious about what caused that explosion, just now.", he explained with a chuckle, earning a groan from his 'comrade'.

"Why is he even here?" Scaramouche muttered under his breath, pinching the bridge of his nose, "Isn't he supposed to be in Liyue?"

Hearing this question, the ginger smiled, "Are you curious?", he mused with a teasing smile.
"No. I'm not. I couldn't care less about what you are doing." The dark-haired retorted, with a sigh.

After enduring the endless babbling from Childe for a bit longer, the two finally arrived at their destination, only to find a familiar fair-haired woman, furiously mumbling to herself.

"What is all this baseless turmoil about?" Scaramouche asked, with an irritated look.

La Signora, who hadn't realized the males' appearance, until now, turned around with a furious look.
"Baseless!?" She seethed, balling her hands into fists, "Some filthy pest tried to kill me! Just thinking about that ugly grin on their face makes me want to claw their eyes out."

The indigo-haired male sneered, "I can't believe that you are getting so riled up because of a mere person. As someone with your rank, shouldn't it have been an ease to get rid of them?"

"Are you blind? Can't you see this giant hole in the wall?" The woman hissed, crossing her arms.

"What did this person try to kill you with?" Childe mused with a chuckled, "A bomb?"

"That was the doing of a single arrow." The female replied, slowly calming down, "Their arrows looked completely normal to me, that's why I must have let my guard down. Though, now that I think about it, their eyes seemed to briefly change color before releasing the arrow. At first, I thought that I had simply imagined it, but now it actually does make sense; seeing how a simple arrow can cause such an explosion."

Hearing the woman's words, the short male couldn't help but smirk. He knew exactly who that hag was talking about.

"I'll be taking my leave now." Scaramouche hummed, before turning around, "Have fun explaining that hole to Her Royal Highness."

Seeing the young man leave, Childe also waved the woman goodbye, before hurrying after his comrade.

"Hmm?" The ginger tilted his head, giving the dark-haired a curious look, "It appears that you are in a good mood. Is it because of something that woman said?"
