2nd POV
You sat at the table, lazily resting your head on its wooden surface.
After Aether interrupted the duel with Childe you headed back to the inn, refusing to speak even a single word with him. Despite him trying to strike up a conversation with you, you refused to even look at him. If he thought that he needed to treat you like some troubled teenager, then you didn't mind acting like one.You could hear Paimon's complaint in the background, but you couldn't care less as you repeatedly killed and revived the potted plant decorating the table.
You had to admit that the Dendro element was your favorite one. To be able to grow plants in such an easy way was truly something else. The knowledge you gained from the book about Teyvat's flora was an important part of growing real plants.
"(Y/N)."
Your eyes traveled across the room, landing on the blonde boy, standing at the doorway with a visible frown.
You didn't give him a response, but simply waited for him to keep talking.Seeing your reaction, a heavy sigh escaped Aether's lips. "Please stop torturing the plant."
With a sneer, you balled your hand into a fist, draining the plant completely. Raising from the table, you headed to the bedroom.
"How long are you going to act this way?" Aether suddenly asked, his arms lazily crossed over his chest.
You stopped in the doorway before looking over your shoulders with a faint smile.
"I don't know." You replied with a grin, "That depends on my mood."
You found yourself spinning around, hands resting on your hips. "Maybe a few more hours. Perhaps a few more years. How long do you think immortals can hold a grudge? Well... if their memories are intact, of course."Your question caused the blonde's frown to deepen.
As he didn't give you an answer, you turned around with a quiet chuckle, "Once your actions have come back to bite you, I'll gladly forget about today's incident."
Without another word, you entered the bedroom, and locked the door behind you shut.
Once you were out of sight, Paimon crossed her arms, giving Aether a worried look, "Paimon thinks that you should try to have a proper conversation with them. (Y/N) seemed really mad."
Aether frowned at her words, "They wouldn't want to listen, even if I'd try. I might have been a bit harsh on them, but I can't let (Y/N) run around, playing with the Fatui. They should take things more serious. Sometimes it feels like they see all of this as some kind of game with no consequences, and it makes me mad."
The blonde let out a frustrated sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. Shaking his head, he sat down at the table and gazed at the wilted plant."What value does one's life hold in (Y/N)'s eyes?"
*? POV*"It's you."
My gaze shifted from the lake, towards the man.
"It's me." A soft smile formed on my lips as my eyes locked with a pair of amber ones.He crossed his arms behind his back, gazing at the lake.
"How long do you intend to stay this time?"Chuckling, I turned my head; my eyes traveling across the water, "That solely depends on how long I live."
There was a moment of silence, before a quiet sigh escaped the man's lips.
"I assume that you are aware of the fact that you will never die a natural death?"I could feel his gaze on me as he asked me this question.
"Of course I am." I hummed with a soft smile.
