2nd POV

It's been seven days since you first woke up in this room, that by now seemed to be your own. Jean told you that you may use it as you please. It was a sign of gratitude for helping the Mondtsadt's citizens for the past few days.

It was still early in the morning. The sun hasn't risen completely yet. You had already woken up a while ago, but for some reason couldn't bring yourself to get up. Something told you that today wasn't going to be your day.

As you laid there, overflying the book's pages, a knock came from the wooden door.
By now, you were used to having people knocking on your door every morning. Usually, it was Amber, who wanted to spend some time with you, what you gladly did. Surprisingly, Kaeya visited you twice by now. Though, both times during the late evening, inviting you to join him at Angel's Share for a drink. Which you didn't decline. Who would decline a free drink?

But this early in the morning? Not even Amber would do this to you.

"(Y/N)?" A male voice called from the other side of the door.
Surprised by the unknown visitor, you placed down your book and hurried over to the door. As you opened it, your eyes met a pair of familiar turquoise ones.
"Albedo?"
"Good morning." He greeted you with a calm expression, "I came to pick you up, like we had agreed on."

You mentally facepalmed, hearing his words. You had totally forgotten about it.
Your gaze wandered towards the window. It was dawning outside, you could still see some stars on the sky.
"How late is it?" You asked, seemingly irritated by his early arrival.
"Well, I don't have a clock with me, but looking at the sky and depending on the time of year, it should be around 6AM." He mused, a hand resting on his chin.

It was too early for motivation, but you agreed to join him on Dragonspine. Backing down was no option for you.
A sigh of defeat escaped your lips, before turning back to him.
"Alright. But let me get ready first. I don't intend to head out in my sleepwear." You said and closed the door shut, not waiting for a reply.

Luckily, Amber went shopping with you two days ago. She didn't like the idea of you owning nothing but your tattered school uniform and the spare clothes she had given you. So, you ended up buying a whole wardrobe of clothes.

If you were heading to Dragonspine, you should dress yourself warmly, unless you intend to end up as an icicle.

Putting on a pair of dark brown trousers, a white shirt, a light brown padded leather jacked and a pair of comfy black boots you were nearly ready to go. You strapped your bow and quiver onto your back, and threw the old bag over your shoulders. As you were about to open the door, your eyes landed on the book, you got from the library.
You actually enjoyed reading it. You never thought that a book about plants could be interesting to you. Not able to resist, you picked it up and carefully packed it into your bag.

You patted your bag and opened the door, not wanting to let that poor lad wait any longer.
"I think I'm ready to go." You called out, making Albedo look at you.
The blonde mustered you for a while, before speaking up.
"This outfit looks good on you." He gave you a calm smile.
You were totally taken aback, by his words. Did he just compliment you, or was it a simple statement? You were confused. A compliment about looks, wasn't something you would expect to hear from the alchemist. So, it had to be second.

"Amber choose it for me." You simply replied, not sure what else to say, "We should head out. It's gonna take some time to get to Dragonspine, after all."
You brushed past Albedo, heading towards the exit. Not wasting another second, the blonde followed suit after you, trying to catch up with you.

A few hours later
Your hands were deeply tucked into your jacket's pockets, trying to stay warm.
It was cold. Really, really cold. That freezing bar in the game was no joke.
Your feet and hand were numb. Your nose hurt from the icy wind up there. You promised to yourself to never come up here again, once you survived this trip.
"Are you alright?" Albedo asked, looking at you.
"Certainly. There is nothing better than freezing in the bitter cold." You replied sarcastically.
"Well, you seem to be doing well enough to joke around." He responded bluntly, making you flinch.

That kind of hurt.

As you were thinking about what to say, you spotted a lit up torch standing at the wayside.
Not hesitating for a second, you hurried over to it. Holding your hands over it, you tried to defrost them.
You could feel the Pyro energy the torch emitted. Your body was flooded with a comforting, warm energy, that gradually removed the cold.

Suddenly, the fire disappeared, leaving you shook.
"Why did it go out?" You stared at it, confused.
"To me, it looked like your body absorbed all the flame's Pyro energy, until there was nothing left." Albedo, explained, a thoughtful look on his face.
"But I didn't mean to do that." You sighed, reaching out to the torch.

Thinking about how you let the Ceciles bloom back at the Starsnatch Cliff, you thought that maybe you could infuse some Pyro energy back into the torch.
Focusing on the warm energy inside your body, you let it travel towards your palm.
"Just a little." You thought, trying to control the energy you infused.

*swoosh*

"Not again!" You cursed as, suddenly, the whole torch was set on fire.
You groaned in annoyance, raising your hand into the air, as you watched the entire torch's body burning.
"Amazing..." The blonde stared at the burning object in awe.
"Amazing? This is arson." You complained, pointing at the poor torch.

Seemingly lost in thought, Albedo headed off, leaving you behind. As you realized this, you hurried after him, not wanting to get lost in the snow.
You still felt a bit of the Pyro energy flowing inside you. It was faint and felt like it was about to disappear. Not wanting to lose it, you did your best to keep it within you. Which surprisingly seemed to work, as long as you focused enough. Maybe with enough practice, you might be able to let elemental energy flow within your body, as natural as you breathe.
Holding on to that thought, you hurried after Albedo, the cold not bothering in the slightest.
