2nd POV
You couldn't deny that Childe's sudden appearance was bothering you. It wasn't like you hated him or something, but he wasn't really a character in this world you wanted to spend too much time with.
He was always wearing a friendly facade, and it was hard to tell what was actually on his mind. You didn't mind taking risks from time to time, but being involved with him too much, surely wouldn't do you any good. Besides, if you lose your cool, you might accidentally end up on his bad side; you should try to avoid this at all cost. The ginger was looking down at you with a calm gaze, a smile plastered on his face. He still hadn't answered your question.
"What did he want?"After a while longer, you wondered if you were actually having a staring contest. You were still frowning at him, while his deep blue eyes were still locked with yours.
Should you just turn your head away and leave? He didn't seem like he was going to answer your question anyway. Maybe he was simply enjoying making you uncomfortable; curious how long you would be able to glare at him like that."Hah..." The man eventually let out a tired sigh, before turning his head away, shrugging his shoulders.
You won.
"I was simply taking a stroll through Liyue because I was bored." Childe admitted, his hands resting on his hips. "As I saw you, I couldn't help but take this opportunity to talk to you. There is no ill intention towards my action; I was simply bored."
His words caused you to relax a little.
"Well, I doubted that there was any ill intention behind it from the start." You muttered, followed by a quiet sigh, "But I'm currently not in the mood for small talk. It's late, and like you overheard just a moment ago, Aether and Paimon might be worried about me right now."
Finishing your explanation, you turned your back to the ginger. In your opinion, this conversation was clearly over.Too bad that a conversation consists of two opinions.
Before you knew it, the tall male was blocking your path once again. You would love to say that you weren't one to easily get irritated, but this young man was clearly testing your patience.
"Don't." Your voice held a tone of hostility, as you glared daggers at Childe.
Unfortunately, the ginger seemed rather unbothered by your glare as he kept smiling from ear to ear."Hey now. Don't just leave like that." He spoke up with an amused chuckle. "Who said that I want to have a boring small talk with you?"
Your glare only deepened at his words. What else did he want?
You crossed your arms, the packed meal still tightly in your grip. Knowing that he would probably keep blocking your path until he got what he wanted, you decided to wait for him to properly speak up.
Seeing your change of posture, Childe seemed to understand that you were willing, to at least listen to him.
"You know," he spoke up, crossing his arms with a calm smile, "- I am curious about your abilities. Your little arrow caused quite the damage inside the Zapolyarny Palace. Your action might have caught the attention from the other Harbingers as well. Lucky for you, for now, only La Signora, the Balladeer and I know that it was your doing."
Your lips pressed into a thin line.
"Why can't I shake off the feeling that you intend to blackmail me now?" You sighed with a frown as you stared straight back at the young man. "I know that Scaramouche isn't someone to just go around and tell everyone about it; he wouldn't gain anything from doing so, after all. La Signora wouldn't tell anyone, either, since she certainly wants to kill me herself; telling it around would create unnecessary obstacles to obtain her goal. So-" Your voice was calm, but held a clear tone of irritation. "What do you want?"
