It's early in the morning. Everybody is asleep except for Hunter. He's practicing with his knife. He sees you and puts it away.
"Someone's up early." He says.
"Gonky woke me up." You say, looking over to the power droid. He makes a guilty beep.
Hunter chuckles. "Gonky..."
You sit in a chair next to him, watching the galaxy outside.
"When I left... I had an idea. I want to find mom." You say, looking up at Hunter.
He pauses. "Y/N... She had Jedi things to do."
"You're giving up, aren't you?" You ask.
He sighs. "I... I don't know if she's alive."
"You didn't know if I was alive." You say.
"That was different." He says.
"How?" You ask.
"Because I knew you'd come back." He responds.
Echo walks over to you both.
"Something wrong?" Echo says.
"It's nothing." You say, walking back to your room.
"Kid-" Hunter starts, following you.
You sit down in your room.
"Tell me what actually happened to Mom." You say to Hunter.Hunter sits down on your bed.
"That day... you were very young. Your mother got a message from some Jedi. She told me she had to leave." He starts.
"Did you hear the message?" You ask.
He shakes his head. "No. She seemed very distressed. Something about a Padawan."
"Did she say she would come back?" You ask.
Hunter pauses. "No. She didn't. That's what made it hard."
You can see the hurt look in his eyes.
"Do you want her to come back?" You ask.
"Of course. Ever since Order 66 though..." He begins.
"She's alive. She has to be!" You state.
"Y/N, please." Hunter says, looking at you. Tears form in his eyes. "I don't want you to expect her to be alive. I don't know if we'll find her."
"I don't remember her. I just... I want to meet her. I want us to be a full and complete family. With Mom and Crosshair too." You say.
"Alright. We can do a little research, but we also need credits. We need to prioritize jobs from Cid." He says.
"Yes, Sir..." You say.Hunter goes to get some rations, and you walk into the main hull of the Marauder. Wrecker and Omega are playing together. It's hard to hide your jealousy, especially when Omega is a genetically altered clone like the rest of The Bad Batch, while you're half-clone. You walk past them and find Tech. He has his helmet on, and he's fixing a part of the cockpit.
"Tech?" You say.
He looks at you. "What is it?" He responds.
"Can I ask you some questions? The Imperial scientist... he said some things about my abilities and skills." You explain.
He gets up. "Sure."
"My mother was a Jedi... Do you think I could use the Force too?" You ask.
"It is possible. However, most Jedi have a Jedi Master to train them. You do not." He states.
"Maybe Mom could teach me!" You say.
"We do not know if she is alive." Tech responds.
"Nobody gets it..." You mutter.Once you land on Ord Mantel, Wrecker and Omega go to get Mantel Mix.
"Y/N! Want to come?" Omega asks.
Hunter sees you three. "Go have fun with them." He says, gently nudging you towards them.
You nod and follow Wrecker and Omega to the stand. Wrecker buys a large bucket of Mantel Mix for the three of you to share. They make jokes with each other as you walk near them, still feeling left out. Once you reach the cantina, you wait for Hunter to finish talking to Cid. Tech sits at the bar with Echo. You sit next to Echo.
"Echo, do you think I could be a Jedi someday?" You ask.
He looks at you and sees your eager face. "Sure, kid. If you keep up with your training, there's a good chance." He says, smiling.
Hunter walks out of the back room.
"Alright. We got a job." He says to all of you.
"More credits for Mantel Mix!" Wrecker says.
"I will do research on your mother." Tech says.
"Thank you, Tech!" You say, hugging him.
"I do not guarantee that I will find anything." Tech says.
"At least there's a chance." You say.
