Summary: You adjust to your new life on Mustafar.
Warnings: NoneA/N: I'm so happy that you guys enjoyed the previous chapter! I felt extra motivated today, and I thought I'd write another one.
~
"We are thirty minutes from our destination, Lord Vader." One of the pilots informs him.
You've been standing next to Darth Vader for the duration of the flight, awaiting his orders.
He looks over at you. "I do not require your assistance, soldier. Find another way to pass the time."
"Yes, Lord Vader." You respond, walking away from him.
The ship you're on is an Imperial light cruiser; it nearly took up the entirety of the hangar on Tantiss. You walk through the halls that seem to never end. The hallways are bustling with people, especially clones.
Suddenly, you bump into someone wearing armor that looks like what an Inquisitor would wear.
"Watch it." He mutters, pushing past you and walking in the opposite direction.
You don't pay any more attention to him and continue exploring the ship.~
After you've explored only a fraction of the ship in the time you've had, one of the pilots announces that the ship will be landing in five minutes. You make your way back to the cockpit next to Darth Vader. Glancing out of the window in front of you, you can see the scorching hot climate of Mustafar; lava surrounds the castle which will be where you will train.
The ship lands outside the castle. You, Darth Vader, and a few groups of people exit. The cruiser takes off and jumps into hyperspace; you assume that they must have a mission to attend. You immediately feel the heat of the planet as you step off the ship. Everyone else leaves to go to a different part of the castle while you continue to follow Darth Vader. He leads you inside the castle to a giant, dimly-lit room.
"This is will you will train. You will not always be alone in here, however. You will find that the Inquisitors will occasionally train here as well." Darth Vader explains.
He leads you to a smaller room near the training room. There's a bed in one of the corners of the room and various other furniture items.
"This is your bedroom. Better than anything Dr. Hemlock would give you..."
Before you have a chance to sit down at relax for a moment, Darth Vader tells you, "I have business to attend to. Go to train for a while. I will join you in a few hours."
"Yes, Lord Vader." You respond, making your way to the training room.
~
You find that you aren't alone in the training room when you enter it. The Inquisitor that you saw on the ship is currently training with his red lightsaber. You notice something different about him, however. He isn't wearing his helmet. As you walk further into the room, you can see his face more clearly. He has short, dark blond hair and hazel eyes. He looks to be around your age, maybe a year older at the most.
"Oh. It's you." He scoffs. "What do you want?"
"My orders are to train here until Lord Vader requires my assistance."
He laughs sardonically. "You're what, 13? And you already sound just like an Imperial officer who's desperate for a promotion..."
"As I have said, I am simply following orders."
He rolls his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Are you going to follow your orders, or are you going to keep making pointless conversation with me?"
You ignore him and walk to the other side of the room. You unhook your lightsaber from your belt and press the button on the hilt to ignite the blade. The blade is a deep red, similar to the color of Darth Vader's lightsaber. As you look closer at the blade, something about it feels off. You feel as though this blade used to be a different color. You don't think too much about it and start training. You practice your stances for a while, trying to get the basics down.
~
As you continue to train, practicing your offensive and defensive skills, it becomes hard to focus with the Inquisitor on the other side of the room destroying various things in the room and creating a ruckus.
"You're being disruptive." You say, raising your voice slightly so he can hear you.
"Tough luck. Better get used to it." He responds, continuing what he has been doing.
You decide to meditate for a while in your corner of the room to try and tune him out. You sit down on the floor and try and focus on the Force. As you concentrate, the noise from the other half of the room seems to diminish, and your mind feels clearer. You start to hear whispers, although you can't quite make out what they're telling you.
You open your eyes as you hear the familiar breathing of Darth Vader nearby. You stand up, watching him walk into the training room. The Inquisitor immediately stops what he's doing and stands still. Darth Vader approaches you.
"Come with me. We must discuss your mission."
You follow Darth Vader out of the training room.
~
He leads you to what looks like a briefing room. It's structure is similar to a typical Imperial briefing room, but the room has windows all around it so you can see the dangerous terrain on Mustafar. Darth Vader stands at the end of a large table in the center of the room. He presses a button, making various holograms of people's faces appear.
"Your mission," Darth Vader begins. "is to track down Clone Force 99."
You inspect the holograms. There are six faces. All of them are clones. Something feels familiar about them...
"They were spotted at one of our Imperial bases recently. You will track them and hunt them down covertly. You will merely observe them and report back to me. You will not, under any circumstances, engage with them. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Lord Vader."
"Good. I see that you have met the Third Brother already. He will assist you in getting you to the location of Clone Force 99, as will the First and Second Sisters. Before you start your mission, I must train you for at least a month. During that time, however, you will continue to track down Clone Force 99 using the Imperial database. Your training starts tomorrow at 5:00 AM."
"With all due respect, Lord Vader, I am capable of completing this mission without the help of the three Inquisitors."
"Do not question me, Soldier EX-1000." Darth Vader responds with anger. "Until you can prove to me that you are capable of completing missions on your own, the Inquisitors will join you."
"Yes, Lord Vader. I will be ready for my training at 5:00 AM tomorrow."
"Excellent. Dismissed, Apprentice."
